Nickelodeon Family Suites - Transportation to the parks

Hello, everyone.

Our party of 10 will be staying at the Nickelodeon Family Suites for 8 nights in late June/early July.

My question: How was the shuttle service to the parks? Because we're a large party, we will be depending on the hotel transporation to the major Disney theme parks as well as Universal (rather than renting cars).

Any tips/advice would be much appreciated.

Is this a newly built hotel or did it just have a renovation? If so what did it used to be? It looks like a great place.

It used to be the Holiday Inn Family Suites. According to the hotel (nicknotel.com), they will be "officially" Nickelodeon Hotel (or Nickelodeon Family Suites) on Memorial Day weekend.

I'd appreciate any info from guests of this hotel - especially on the complimentary shuttle service to the parks.

We stayed here in 2002, and weren't impressed with the transportation. The one to the park wasn't so bad, but trying to get home from Magic Kingdom one night was a headache. We had to sit in a parking lot and wait for a LOONNNGG time for the bus to come. Even after it arrived and picked us up, we had to stop at the other parks,and by the time we finished pick ups, the bus was PACKED.

Unless they have changed their system, I would consider renting vehicles if at all possible.

We enjoyed the resort though, and this was before the remodeling. Have fun!
