Nick, Marie, The Diva's & Me!! Finally Finished 10-20-13!!

Plaza Inn looks gorgeous and so elegant inside. Love it :goodvibes

Shame the food is not that great, but sounds like a reasonable price

That is funny about capt hook being upset :rotfl:

It's pretty....the meal is supposedly close to the Crystal Palace meal at WDW. I guess for some reason, I figured the restaurant was the same style?? :confused3

I've never been a fan of the food here, but we always have a good time with the characters.

Hook is becoming one of my favorites.....he's very playful!! pirate:

The Plaza Inn Character breakfast looked great! I'm so glad you were able to get your photo package later with your PP+ card.

I'm enjoying your trip report. Thank you for sharing.

I'm glad too......I like getting them for the memories!!

Thank you for reading!!! :cool1:

I forgot to mention that right after I got off the airplane in Santa Ana.....I got a voice mail from the twins teacher. I figured it had to be important since she knew I was out of town. Michayla had darted out the door and they yelled for her to come back & she whipped around and gouged her forehead on a coat hook. Poor baby....... :worried:

She still has a knot and bruising and it will be a week tomorrow. Made me sad that she got hurt and I wasn't there.

And the 1st picture is Derek trying to hold her still for my pathetic camera phone (not a choke hold lol). Used my camera from accross the room for the other two

From experience I know that had to be harder on you and Derek than it was on her.

We headed to CarsLand and we picked up a FP for Radiator Springs Racers. If you have a wheelchair or a Guest Assistance Card/GAC~you go to the end of the "street" and on the left sidewalk, there is a podium set up to check in with. They will issue you a FP and a time to return. Otherwise, FP's for RSR is found at the front of BugsLand.

We decided to ride Luigi's Flying Tires. When I rode this with Derek in December, we didn't really move very much.....so I was not super impressed with the ride......until I figured out that we were leaning too much. This trip.....MUCH MORE FUN!!!

So when the sign says don't lean to far......they mean it!!! Just a small tilt will move you around and it's lots of fun!!!

We got off the tires and headed to Cozy Cones to get pictures. Each cone holds a different food offering.

They have a "baby" tractor set up for picture ops......it's so cute!!

Next we decided to ride Mator's Junkyard Jamboree. Fun ride!!

While we were waiting for our turn....I spotted some Diva's having some fun!!

Time to ride!

We still had a few minutes before our ride time on Radiator Springs Racers, so we did a little shopping. Nick wearing the tire hat......lol

062.jpg

I found a bunch of "Cars" stuff that would make for great birthday gifts for Anthony, so I picked him up some goodies and had it sent back to our hotel.

There was a photopass photographer in front of Flo's V-8 Cafe, so we stopped for a picture. These are from my camera.

064.jpg

I had Nick & Marie do some "couple" pics too. Hopefully the photopass pictures are better for lighting.

065-1.jpg

Our ride time had arrived and we realized the ride was down. With the enforcement of FP times, we needed to hang out in the area so if the ride reopened in that hour window....we were able to ride. We sat at the end of the street on a shaded bench. You really should get back there to see this mural!

067-1.jpg

We enjoyed the shade for a bit and then got up and took some more pics around the area as we waited.

We headed back to Flo's to get a cold drink.

075-1.jpg

We headed to the back of the restaurant to sit on the shaded porch and watch to see if the racers started running again. Lightning McQueen came by, so Nick & Marie jumped up to get a couple pics and then I got their pic!! lol

077-1.jpg

Look what started making their way around the track!!! Very slowly at first but then started to pick up speed.

080-1.jpg

When the cars seemed to be running the track at full speed, we figured we would be head back over to wait. Red the firetruck was out, so while we waited for the ride to reopen, we took some pictures.

081-1.jpg

They opened the ride on our last 5 mins of our "window".....so it's a good thing we hung out!! If the ride had been down the entire hour, we could have used the FP anytime that day.....but if it comes back up during your hour window.....you better be there to ride, otherwise there is no guarantee they'll honor the FP.

The baby tractor is cute, but not just because it's a baby tractor. It's also adorable because it's in the "Petting Zoo." The idea of the Petting Zoo is beyond clever and priceless!

I actually thought that the Petting Zoo and its baby tractor looked rather plain during the holiday season. The rest of Cars Land was totally dressed up in holiday magnificence, but they left the Petting Zoo spot pretty bare. I thought they should have stuck a bow on the baby tractor or put a miniature Christmas tree back there with the tractor! There's enough room. Maybe they will do that this year.

What was that green triangle Derek Nick was holding in his hand?

Glad you figured out the trick with Luigis Tires and had some fun this time

Mater's ride looks cute too

Glad Radiator Springs came up , so you all could ride it :thumbsup2

:lovestruc It's a cute set up but did lack in the holiday cheer in December.

They hand out the triangles to count riders (vehicles). They have green, red & white (for Italy's flag). Once in your tire, the CM's will come around and collect them. This also keeps people from staying on and trying to ride again. They rotate the colors each turn.

Love the RSR!!! It's my favorite ride in DCA!!!!

Great pics! Loved your TR. :)

Thank You and Welcome!!! :wave2:

Oops, I had one more picture from CarsLand. We hit this photo op on our way out.

092-2.jpg

We headed over to Disneyland and saw the Dapper Dan's out performing in front of the Fire Station. The extra magic this week was that the Dapper Dan's would be doing "boy band" songs......we only saw a part of their show....but they never did any, what I would consider "boy band" songs.

We had a 2pm Blue Bayou reservation, so of course the best way to do this experience is to ride Pirates before our meal.
