I wrote a while back on the boards about how i was given 3 different prices from the reservationist on the phone it went from $219 and finally down to $119 so i booked for the one night for a 2 bedroom bunk bed suite. Well we decided this morning to stay an extra night as my husband is taking time off work earlier. Im very excited about this as i felt one night wouldnt be enough for my kids. So i called on the phone this morning to get a price. It was an older woman and she told me the price was $225. I asked is that the best price and was told yes so i hung up. I immediately called back was put on hold for a few minutes and talked to a very nice girl. I approached it a bit differently this time and told her i already had a reservation for one night and she asked for my reservation #. Well she came back with the price of $119 to match my other night charge. I couldnt believe it!!!! It really pays to keep calling back and talking to different people. So we will be there now from Aug 22-24th before our 4 night stay at Contemporary.

Hi we are staying there 3 nights in July was quoted a price then wheni got confirmation there is a resort fee around 25 a night weather you use it or not for a shuttle i have to check my emails i will let you know. Ithink i will try calling again.:cool1:

My advice for both of you would be: Keep an eye on Travelocity's deals.

Here's my story:
* I had been tracking Nick Hotel pricing via the official website, Travelzoo, this board and other sites.
* At that point, there was a special via Travelzoo for traveling through May, for 109 waiving the resort fee. I am going in June for seven nights, so I couldn't take it.
* There's five of us, so I was looking for two room, twin bed configuration.
* May 8, Travelocity came with an offer for $114 weekdays and $146 weekend, plus $25 resort fee + taxes. Average $123.24 per night + resort fee + taxes. I booked.
* May 16, Travelocity posted a $79 weekdays, $114 weekend "today only" rate, plus resort fee + taxes. Average $89 + 25 resort fee + taxes. I made a new reservation, cancelled the first booking, accepted a 25 USD cancellation fee, and end up with $250+ savings for my 7-day trip.

Here's the post that gave the tip last saturday. They are going in Aug.22 also.

That rate is no longer available, but you might want to be cheking out the specials as you might end up with good savings.

Why are the pricing and specials so volatile? I have no idea. At this point the Nick Hotel is no longer affiliated with Holiday Inn, they seem close to a deal with Marriott, but seems that they are independent right now, thus having strange strategies for the upcoming summer season.

Travelzoo has a deal right ow for the Nick Hotel for $79 plus resort fees and taxes. You might want to check it out for your dates.

Is there something special you have to do to get Travelzoos rate to show up? I am not finding it. Thanks!

Thanks for the information but i will just stay put at $119 directly with the hotel.
The thing with Travel Zoo is you have to pay upfront and i think there was some penalty if you have to cancel. I would rather not have to pay until i get there. I did check last week and the rate wasnt much different from what i am paying now.

Yes very strange strategies, i just dont get it, makes no sense to me :confused3

Off topic but just wondering, if we booked a one night stay with probably my kids & parents occupying the room (if anyone sleeps over - we would already have our rooms booked for the same night at WDW) would dh & I also be allowed to visit & participate? Thanks!

The two-bedroom suites are for six, so you can book four adults and two children. So technically the six will be registered in the hotel. That would be my guess.

The resort fee they charge is per room / per night, not for each person.

I have a question, at the pool area are there enough chairs to sit or are people fighting over places.
or do you suggest that i bring my own beach chair so i wouldnt have to worry about that????

You can't book on Travelzoo, as it is kind of a "deal finder" site. They forward you to other sites, and they might make specials with hotels, and then forward you to their site, with a promotional code or something.

However, what you say is true regarding Travelocity. A complete charge is made on your credit card once you book, and they have a 25 USD cancellation fee. Additional charges may apply if you cancel within three days of your arrival date.

I did my cancellation and new reservation at about the same time, and the new charge and the credit appeared at the same time on my credit card. No problems on getting my money back.

With Nick Hotel the room rate doesn't change with the number of people. We had a 2 bedroom suite for $119 and could have had six people there to enjoy the amenities.

Prices may vary every hour. This is just because of number of bookings, this is like air tickets, as hotels get more bookings they try to increase tariff (not all hotels).

Que. 2
You do not need to take your own chair, hotel always has extras, on a simple request it can be arranged.
