Hello all. We are going to Nick Hotel in March and wondering what is nearby? Any grocery stores or the popular Super Wal-Mart? Eating places, anything in walking distance. How long to drive to Disney? We will be flying in and have a rental car. Thank yall! :cheer2:

the only thing is the Marriott World Center and it is not walking distance.

Nothing is really within walking distance - well I guess some of the restuarants and shops are if you can easily walk a mile or two...

the Lake Buena Vista factory shop is probably the closest mall.

the new walmart is very close too - but not walking distance...

disney is just around the corner - 5 minutes - 7 minute to Epcot, 6 minute to Studio - around 15 minutes to the parking lot at the MK - not the MK - that will be around 45 minutes... you need to get the tram then the monrail or ferry because you are in the MK.

just ask for directions to Wal-Mart, they gave us directions and it was really easy to find. You can't walk to anything around there, but within the hotel is enough activities to keep you busy! There is a little outlet mall not far from there also. The street Wal-Mart is on, I think the is the main road because it has lots of places to eat, fill up the car, buy gifts, etc. :wave2:

From the Nick hotel, leaving the parking lot you will be on 536 turn right. At the signal will be 535 turn right again. Go about 3/4 mile and at the corner of Polynesian Isle Blvd and 535 is the new Super Walmart.

If you want directions to a few restaurants, from the Nick hotel turn right on 536. Turn LEFT on 535 on the right side of the road you will see a Chik Filet, Benigans, Wendys,Gas station. On the left side of 535 you will see a Lone Star Steakhouse and a Landry's next door to that. If you turn left on Vineland, you will see a Bahama Breeze and a Golden Corral (buffet) if you continue on Vineland, you will come up to the Premium Outlets (food court inside) or the Dixie Stampede straight ahead. If you continue around the bend in the road, on the left side will be a McDonalds and an Outback Steakhouse as well as a nice PUBLIX.

(the fastest way into WDW from the Nick hotel will be to turn LEFT out of the parking lot onto 536 and follow the signs. The MK WILL NOT take you 45 mins to get to)

the front gates of the MK are about that time frame. you've go to allow yourself a half hour between the hitting the parking lot to the turnstiles.

They can get to the MK parking lot in about 10 min, but one is still a long way off from being near the MK itself at this point. Spicey factored in (correctly), an extra 35-40 min just to get the tram and then either the ferry or monorail into the park. When not staying in one of WDW's hotels, the MK can sometimes take even longer than that. On occasions, it has taken us easily an hour to get from the Vistana (which is very close to the Nick hotel), to actually being inside the MK.

How far is this from Discovery Cove and Seaworld? Looking for a fun place to stay for 2 yo 3 nights before WDW. Need a place for 4 adults and 1 child. Thought this might be fun for the daughter and her grandparents.
