Nick Hotel-Not a good experience

Wow I guess I am the only one to see this as a positive. I think questoning a single male who is taking photos is appropriate. Pedophiles purposely put themselves where children are plenty. They count on people not stepping up and saying something. They look as respectible as any of us. So I see what Nick did as a positive. How many pedophiles have they discouraged because they put the perp on notice. While you had a legitimate backstory I am sure true pedophiles do too. An extra eye on you should be worth the safety of a child. I applaud what Nick did. I think you are over reacting. You did stay as a single male at a kid themed hotel and quite honestly it is strange under normal circumstances. You did have a valid story but still better safe then sorry. Too many kids have been hurt because people refused to step up for fear of offending someone.

I have to err on the side of the hotel on this one. A single man (who booked the room saying he was with kids) checks in and starts taking pictures. I think it was within the rights of the hotel to see what you were doing at a family hotel alone taking pictures.

I can understand why you were offended as you are not a sex offender. But as a father, do you understand why you were questioned? It is not like this was the Ritz it was the Nick hotel. Who in their right mind without kids would opt to stay there?(I understand totally why you did but really how many people have their van explode right before a trip) I would imagine the Nick is not the hot spot for convention goers.

Was it Politically Correct - no - but was it a safety concern- to them yes. I have to side with the hotel on this. If you had just checked in and were treated that way I would feel differently but the picture taking I am sure is what drew the red flags.

I would agree with the assumption that this is a great safety measure....however they had told me, and had since written me and told me that it is policy and procedure....being an employee, I am aware that policy and procedure must be displayed when pointing the finger at certain groups....as they did. When asked where I could see a copy of this policy and procedure, I could not get an answer. It is not displayed on the website, it is not anywhere in the vicinity of this hotel, and I think if this is a legitimate concern, they should legitimately post this policy and procedure.
As I have posted before, if a single man is to go to the Magic Kingdom, a park primarily for children and families.......would it be fair to assume he is a child molester?

This actually makes me feel better about staying at the hotel and after working in a prison for 18 years I think they should question any adult staying in the hotel without children. Although I can understand why you stayed there you also have to understand why they would question this. You would be amazed by the actual number of petophiles who are out there. Kudos to the Nick hotel.
