Nichole's Wishes PJ 10/24/2011 ~ WP/ADH/SCP ** OUR WEDDING DAY ~ The Reception

The weather has been getting nice lately and I have been out of town a lot, so I haven't gotten too much accomplished :sad2:

When we started researching fun things to do for our wedding weekend, we can upon this website for drinking around the world in Epcot and we instantly knew we had to do it! I figured we would get our close family and a few friends to join us, but it has quickly become one of the most popular events all our guests are excited about. As it turns out, almost everyone is going to do it!

We have been working on passports for drinking around the world for a while now, but we finally finished the first batch of them. :cool1: I am pretty excited about how they turned out!

I borrowed most of the page designs from someone on the creative boards (I think -- it's been a while though). Then I changed the order, added a map, cover page, passport info page and some directions. This is what the pages look like:

My printer doesn't do a full bleed very well, so I tweaked the design size a little too. We are bringing colorful permanent markers for everyone to mark up the passports.

We also found these "halloween" shot glasses at Oriental Trading Co for $3 per dozen! There are little pumpkins and ghosts on the necklace part, but for $0.25 a piece, I think they will work great as a fun favor.

We want to do t-shirts with a checklist of countries on the back and something like "Nichole and DF's Drinking Team" on the front. We played around with the idea of making them ourselves with t-shirt transfers, but I am now leaning towards just having them made. This is our first attempt ... I'm not sure why it didn't dawn on us that you had to reverse the transfer before ironing, but I guess there is a learning curve :rotfl:

If we have them made, we were leaning towards lime green shirts with hot pink writing ... something that really stands out in the crowd. DF has taken the lead on the t-shirt project, so we'll see what he comes up with.

I think we are going to put together the shirts, passports, a bottle of water and the shot glass necklaces in little paper bags for everyone. I haven't worked out the logistics of it all yet, but it looks like everyone is staying at Coronado Springs, so hopefully getting stuff to everyone won't be that hard.

On a completely different side note, I got my garter in the mail this week!

DF is a huge University of Michigan fan and I went to Michigan State University (2 huge rivals). So he is going to laugh when he figures out I am wearing something "green" instead of something "blue" :cheer2:

Great ideas!!!!
We love "drinking around the world"! We do it everytime we are in Disney!
Those passports are such a great idea!!! I love them!!!
The shirts... :lmao: .... happens. So funny! Sounds like something I'd do.
Love the garter!

I LOVE how they turned out! I think the fact that they're backwards is just funny! Almost like you SHOULD do them like that and tell people you did it on purpose! It is drinking around the world.. and by the time it's over it'll be appropriate! hehe.

The little passports are GREAT! LOOOVE them!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the passports and shirt idea! Are you going to be drinking around the world on the same night as the wedding? We are!

Those passports came out AWESOME!!! :) Great job!!!! Your guests are going to love them!! Not to mention what a great keepsake!

LOVE the passports!!!!
Drinking all over the world is something I am planning to do, I want to go ahead and do it the night of the rehearsal dinner since I am planning on actually having a dessert party instead... I figured if I can get everyone to come to Epcot that day, I will be saving on A LOT of viewing fees. :lmao: But anyways, I hadn't thought about the passports!!!! They are really cute... and if you don't mind, please post the information on where you decide to get your shirts made (if you decide to go that route). I was considering making some myself, but thought the quality would be a little better if I got them made, figuring the cost wouldnt be too much higher. I am shopping around, so any suggestion would help!!! :)

We are drinking around the world for my bachelorette party. We have little passports made up (although yours are way cuter!) and our shirts are going to say the following (since I am a huge gator fan): Something old, something new, something orange, something blue.

Thanks! We have never done it!! Our planning session is in a couple weeks, so if we have time, we want to try it out!

:lmao: We thought about it! DF can't keep a secret very well, so he would tell everyone (especially once he starts drinking) ;)

Our ceremony is at 5, so there won't be time. We are doing it on Saturday the 22nd. That way everyone won't be too hung over for the wedding :)

Thanks so much! I am really proud of them!

We are shopping around right now too. We started to add up the cost of doing it ourselves and we weren't saving much money -- especially when you add in ink and the many test runs we need. I think DF is going to downtown Atlanta somewhere to find a place that does family reunion shirts for cheep.

I love that! I think adding in a little family/sports rivalry will make things fun! Too bad my Spartans are having a bad basketball season though. :sad1: Hopefully our football season is going really well this fall ... otherwise DF will be sure to point that out!

I have been lurking for a while, but I had to come out of my lurkdom to tell you that I'm absolutely blown away by your current wedding plans. How amazing!

We leave for our planning session Saturday morning!!! :cool1:

I have been so busy at work lately, so I haven't gotten very much accomplished. I have been working on our invitations and a couple other DIY projects, but nothing new completed yet :sad2:

We did get our unity candle in the other day. I am really happy with how it turned out! We don't have the stand yet, but you get the idea. They even put little Mickey heads on it for us! :lovestruc

I sent a stack of photos to Maxine and to Elizabeth at Disney Floral (at least I think her name is Elizabeth - the signature in the e-mail said Elizabeth, but the e-mail address said Jennifer?!?). So hopefully everything is all set.

I really need a vacation, so this trip couldn't come at a better time! Nothing like a long weekend at Disney to make all your stress go away :goodvibes

When is your planning session? I will be in Orlando Saturday too... :goodvibes
My site inspection is on Monday with Bill.

Just getting caught up on your PJ, you have gotten so much done! I LOVE the drinking around the world passports and the unity candle! Yay for hitting the seven month mark, and have a great time at your planning session! Once you get back time will start to fly!

Thanks! I can't believe we are close to the six month mark! I need to get it in gear and finish some of my projects!
