Nicest thing a cm has ever done for you

The CM saw the puffy eyes and asked what happened, I explained how she wanted to swim, but we couldn't without suits, he smiled and left. Not more than ten minutes later we get a knock on the door from the same CM with 3 balloons to make a Mickey head and told my daughter that he spoke with Mickey and Mickey wants all kids to be happy so he sent over balloons. She loved it! She told everyone at the pool Mickey sent her balloons.QUOTE]

Lots of things just in the past week. At Marrakesh, my 4yo ds fell and hit his head against the table. It hurt, and he was scared; so he started to cry. 2 wonderful CM's discouraged me from taking him out of the restaurant. They took him out to the Kidcot station and helped him make a mask. When they returned him to the table, they brought him a bowl of ice cream (after asking dh and I for permission first). Throughout the entire meal, CM's would stop and talk to our 2 young children, always calling them by name. Very personal service!!

On our first evening, we were the only family on a late evening bus from AKL to MK. The bus driver chatted with us the entire time. When we arrived at MK, he gave my 4 yo ds a special bus driver's license.

On our second day at AKL, both of my boys got birthday cards from Mickey. Our dd wasn't left out. She got a card/photo of Minnie, wishing her a magical stay.

Also at AKL, we got towel animals on 3 separate occasions. The third, a monkey with a toilet paper towel, was by far the best. The kids loved these!

When our tired 2.5 yo dd started to fuss towards the end of our late night meal at 1900 Park Faire, Cinderella came over and gave her some extra attention. When dd ripped off her bib and threw it on the table, one of the mice came over and put it back on her. You should have seen our dd's face. We need Cinderella and the mice at home!

I could go on. Our service and experiences at WDW last week were truly wonderful!!!

There are so many - but two that come to mind:

In AK, at the carnival area, my son wanted to throw basketballs. (Age 11, has Down Syndrome). He didn't understand that the point was to win - he just wanted to play basketball. I asked the CM if he could just throw a ball or two - no prize even if he made it (which I knew he wouldn't). She agreed. He threw a few balls, and we walked away, with him happy. But the she stopped us and handed him a stuffed dinosaour! He was ecstatic!

The other was at MGM, waiting for Fantasmic. We were sitting up top in the wheelchair area. All day I'd been promising him popcorn and soda at the show. Well, I got there to discover I had only a few dollars cash, and no place in the vicinity took credit or room charge cards. A CM overheard me explaining to my son that we couldn't get both. She came over and handed me a certificate for a free soda or popocorn. It capped the day off perfectly!

I told the wedding coordinator how sweet it was and he did me the favor of delivering a piece of wedding cake to her!
What a nice gesture -- great idea! I wonder how many times anyone really returns the favor like you did. Here's some pixie dust coming your way! :flower:

We checked into ASMo last fall on the day before Hurricane Jeanne came through; the resort was packed, the CM said they were completely booked. I had requested a room in the Toy Story section, because my DS loves TS (same thing she's heard all day probably), but as the resort was full, I didn't think we'd get it. I had three back to back to back ressies, and they were not linked when I made them even though I had asked them to be, so she said it wasn't likely we'd get to keep the same room the whole time, but she'd try. I said that was ok, as long as we didn't have to move during the hurricane (lol). She asked if I minded to wait a few minutes while she made a call to check on something, and after about 10 minutes or so of waiting, she had our ressies all linked so we could keep our room....in the Buzz Lightyear building! She made me feel like she was glad to help me, all smiling and as excited as I was. Her name was Nicole....

When we were at WDW in February, my son had a birthday. We didnt know that CMs were no longer allowed to make a big deal about birthdays, so we were a little irritated that not one person had acknowledged my ds' "Today is my birthday" pin. We went to see Crush at the Living Seas pavilion. I got in line to wait for the next show, my mom and the kids wandered over to the gift shop. I asked the CM at the front of the line to pass along to "Crush" that it was my sons birthday. He said he would, then disappeared for a couple of minutes. About 10 minutes later, the phone rang in the gift shop. The CM who answered the phone called out to my son "Are you Scott? Its for you!" The expression on my sons face made every penny we spent at WDW worth it. He went to the phone- it was Goofy. He said "I've been looking for you all day. I wanted to sing you Happy Birthday!" Which he then did. It was so great, my son felt so special. Now we have to go to WDW for my daughters birthday in November and hope for another great CM!!Eva

the day before your dd bday go to romt desk and ask them for a phone from goofy. that's what we did the last April and Goofy did call the next day

The most memorable thing for us was about 3 years ago on a Dec. trip...Me, wife 2 boys, MIL and SIL...We had spent a day away from the parks doing some shopping...We stopped at some of those little tourist trap shops along 192..Well all the women that were with me put there purses in the trunk of our car, which where we live is not an issue, you can leave the car unlocked around here and not worry too much, Anyway about an hour later we stopped to eat and the all went into the trunk to get some money but the purses were gone...no evidence car was broken into...WE lost our PI tickets, our Universal tickets, and about 150 eack in cash....We had ressies for Fultons that night just my wife and I for dinner and then headed to PI, my wife didnt want to go she was still crying but I told her its not the end of the vacation lets go and have fun....Well while at dinner my wife still visibly upset the waiter, manger and a nice older couple sitting next to us talked to her and told her everything would be fine...Now I dont know if it was the waiter and Manager or the couple next to us but next thing we know we are getting deserts...we were in shock....the couple next to us got up before desert came out and said enjoy the rest of your meal and trip....We asked the waiter and said it was taken care of....We left a extra generous tip and it made my wife feel better....you know women and sweets...We were not able to enjoy PI like we wanted because she couldnt get into some clubs because he ID was stolen even showing the police report still no go...but the dinner at Fultons was wonderful....

We have a few nice encounters...

1. The CM at a store in the concourse at the Contemporary who showed DS (2 at the time) her pin collection. I told him he could collect them when he was older and she immediately knelt down and told him to pick any pin off her lanyard. He chose one and she said, "now you have your very first Disney pin - the start of your own collection!" On the other hand...this is what started DH collecting so maybe it wasn't such a magical moment...;)

2. The CM at the Beach Club guest services who handed me two blank room cards when I jokingly told her that I would have to hide the HDD tickets from DS so he wouldn't rip them, as he loves tickets and is always dying to get his hands on his AP and room key. She gave those blank keys to me and said, "here - now he can have his own tickets!" He was THRILLED!

3. Several character encounters have also been wonderful - in particular Buzz and Pooh.

4. The CM at the Disney Store at the Mall of America, the night before we flew down to WDW for DS's first trip - October 2002 - when he was only 1. We had decided to buy his Halloween costume - Mickey Mouse - since it was on major sale, no tax in MN, etc. We had planned to leave it in the car and not take it with us on the plane, but the CM there suggested we bring it down with us and put him in it when he met Mickey. She promised us that Mickey would make a fuss. And you know what? She was right!

About 8 years ago, we were in MGM and my DH started to feel faint. Turns out he was dehydrated and did indeed faint on me. We were sitting down at the time at a table outside the area that is now Playhouse Disney, which back then was a restaurant. Within about 10 seconds of him fainting, I had 3 CM's ask me if I needed help. DH came to very quickly, but they still called the paramedics for him and had him checked out. (Which by the way we never received a bill for.) While this was all going on, DD2 was strapped into a stroller. One of the CM's paid very close attention to her and gave her a bunch of stickers to keep her occupied. They took us up to the front of the park where the first aid station is located. They gave DH plenty of things to drink and a place to lay down for a while. After that, they arranged for a special shuttle to take us back to our resort, OKW. There were a lot of CM's that made this situation more bearable.

In May 2004, DH and I attended the DVC Member Homecoming event for the grand opening of Saratoga Springs resort. Once again, DH had some trouble dealing with the heat. One evening (thankfully not one where there was an event planned), he didn't feel well, so I ended up going to dinner by myself at Artist Point. Initially I asked to change our dining time to a later time in the hope that he would feel better. They were great about making the change. When he still wasn't feeling better, I decided to go alone. My server was wonderful. When I didn't eat all the bread at the table, I asked if I could have the rest to take back to our room for DH. Not only did I get the leftovers, but a bunch of fresh bread as well. As part of my meal, I had their wonderful Portabella mushroom soup. I asked if they ever give out any of their recipes and received it very promptly. Even though I was forced into dining alone, it was indeed an enjoyable experience.

When DD was probably about 3 years old. we were doing something at Guest Relations in EPCOT. Somehow the CM struck up a conversation with DD and they discovered their favorite character was in common...Simba. The CM pulled out a small plastic Simba and gave it to DD. She's almost 10 now and still has that little Simba.

Last year on our trip, DH took the "Magic behind our steam trains" tour at MK. The tour ran well over the advertised time and DD and I had a pair of fast passes for Space Mountain that needed to be used. We had found the tour group sitting at the top of the train station while the tour guide answered questions. We dropped DS off with DH so we could get back to Space Mountain. When we returned we found out that the tour guide had given DS a special certificate to be "guest conductor" on the train as well as one of the special pins that people received for going on the tour. He still has his "guest conductor" certificate and is looking forward to using it on our next trip.

I'm sure there are lots of other little things that have happened over the years. These are just a few that jumped out at me as I was reading the experiences others have had. ::MinnieMo

On a trip about 3 or 4 years ago, we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. After buying groceries, we went to MK just to see Spectro, the only time it was running that week. We figured on a Saturday night the lines would be too long to ride anything. Went to the guest relations at MK to get our AP's activated. The cm ran into a problem with the printer. I was patient, we still had awhile before the parade started. After about 15 minutes, he got it fixed. He then handed us 3 pairs of instant fastpasses! It was an interesting situation, which 3 rides do we pick? We were able to ride Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan and Buzz with no wait!
