Hi All,

Well i am set my soon to be fiance and I are headed to disney oct 8-14. I want his to be a great trip. We have no children so it is just the two of us exploring the parks and resorts.

Any pointer or tips for others for a memorable time for us? We are staying at the poly. I made PS for Rose and Crown Pub (HE LOVES ANYTHING ENGLISH) for Illuminations., Dinner at Cind's Royal Table and Dinner at O'hanas.

We also have tickets for MNSSHP.

What else should we do or make sure we see. I will tell you now, we are not big partiers so pleasure island is not really our cup of tea.

Thanks Gina:Pinkbounc

Even if you aren't partiers, you should check out the Adventurers Club. If he likes English, then he will LOVE this!

How about a ride on Breathless or the Dolphins in Depth?

Try a romantic dinner at Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian. The food is amazing, truly a dining experience that you won't forget. Check out the dining board for more information.

Vict. & Albert's is very expensive and you would need to pack semi-formal wear. Try California Grill at the top of the CR. It is expensive but food is good and you do not need to wear semi-formal clothing. Make ressie's to eat around the time the fireworks will be going off at the MK as you'll get a great view of them.

Take a stroll at night along the Boardwalk and check out Jellyrolls. Visit the various disney resort properties as there are great things about them all and most are very pleasant to walk around in (you may fall in love with one and decide to stay there on your next visit). Go to Cirque do Soleil - really great show (expensive but there is nothing else like it). Rent bikes and bike around the Fort Wilderness campgrounds. Go shopping at Downtown Disney and maybe try Disneyquest once. Lastly, play a round of mini-golf at least once as well.

I'll second the Adventurer's Club at PI. Make sure you stay for one of the "shows" in one of the rooms.

Also, try the Comedy Warehouse at PI--a lot of fun.

I'll also second seeing Cirque du Soleil--worth the money.

Try the luau at the Poly of Hoop Dee Doo Review (a little hokey, but fun). They're a little family oriented but still fun for adults. (Keep in mind that most things at Disney are geard toward families/kids and you have to be in that frame of mind when going to many activities.)

They have carriage rides at the PO and the FW. I think an evening carriage ride would be very romantic. you could even get a little bottle of wine for the ride at the mkt. ;)

Disney has really made a point in the last several years of making WDW a great place for couples as well as families. There is a great book out called something like WDW for Couples. It has lots of great things for adults to do and even rates they for romance. But one of the greatest things about WDW is that you can be a little kid for the time you are there so enjoy both ends of the candle.

Unless you are at the bare minimum a "social" drinker any of the clubs at PI, including the Adventurer's Club, is probably not for you, or at least that's what me and my sweetie found when we tried out PI a couple of trips back.

I think you're on the right track with your current plans.

The best advice I think anyone could give, especially since you're traveling without kids, is to not try to do "everything." You've given yourself a good amount of time--seven days--to enjoy WDW. Take the time to explore the parks without doing the "commando" thing. Walk around the Epcot World Showcase to scout what you'd like to see more of (but don't miss seeing Illuminations at least once). Take mid-day breaks to relax back at your resort. The important thing is sharing the WDW experience together and it shouldn't be a chore. ;)

Part of the fun is discovering those things that are most fun for the two of you to share. (e.g. We have to have dinner at BOMA at AKL the night we arrive no matter where we're staying. We have to see Illuminations at least twice. Dinner at the Brown Derby. One round of miniature golf. Spectromagic. Watching the MK fireworks while seated at the bench in front of Crystal Palace where I proposed). Take it easy--it is a vacation--and find the things that are special to you.

Have a great trip!

On our first trip just as a couple, we really enjoyed one evening just sitting in the lobby of the Grand Floridian on one of the couches and listening to the piano player and people-watching. We sat for around an hour late one evening after dinner, just soaking up the atmosphere.

Another thing I would recommend is for each of you to rent a water "mouse" (the little speed boats you can rent from any of the resorts with a body of water). The best place to rent is from one of the Magic Kingdom resorts. You should each get your own and then you can "chase" each other around the 7 Seas Lagoon. Its really fun. Cost is $18 for a 30 minute rental per boat. Definitely worth it. Both of you could theoretically fit into one boat, but the boats will go MUCH slower with all of that weight in them (and we are not big people).

There have been so many good ideas listed here, especially restaurants. I wonder if you would want to skip dinner at Cindy's and eat at one of the more adult restaurants. You can still enjoy the castle by sitting outside of it in the rose garden and watching it change color. I really didn't think the food at the castle was that great and there were tons of kids.

The most romantic thing my husband and I did was wander around the World Showcase in Epcot. I also second heading over to Jellyroll's on the Boardwalk.

We've gone on some of the WDW tours and found them very enjoyable. Also, if you like Jazz, the Jazz Club on PI is very low key and not really clubby.

I definitely agree with the Cirque suggestion. We've also been to Hoop-dee-doo and enjoyed that.

You'll be there during the food & wine festival -- so you might look into activities around that. My husband's a bit of sports nut, so we always have to check out what's happening at WWoS.

We also enjoy having dinner at the various resorts and then just taking a stroll and enjoying the resort. Some of the gift shops and lounge entertainment are really nice.

The lounge in the Boardwalk Inn is nice and has some board games that you can play. When we needed to clarify the backgammon rules, the book they gave us was from the early 1900's. Talk about theming!!

If you go to the Boardwalk, you have to go in the early evening. There's not much there during the day.

If you want to do something really special for your fiance, contact http://www.giftsofalifetime.com/ -- they can help you, I'm sure.
