Last March, DD's and I went to WDW/IOA for a week. For our IOA/US part of the trip, We stayed at HRH. On this trip down, DD#1 found out from her vet, that her critically ill cat had just died (Tiger was 9 years old and loved like a child by my DD). I gave her the choice of turning the car back around and heading home, or to go on with our trip. She decided that she should go on. She felt if she went home she would just look at all her cat's things and cry. On the other hand, the trip would distract her from her loss. It did a little. One day at Christmas shop at IOA, she saw a kittie angel ornament that looked just like Tiger. She bought it and a few other things. We took the boat back to HRH that evening. DD forgot the bag from the store at IOA, it was left under the seat. When we got back to the room and she realized she had lost it, we ran down to the boats to see if anyone had turned it in. They radioed all the boats and it was never found:(
We went back the next day and they had no more of that ornament left. DH explained to the store employee what had happened and she promised to send one to DD if she left her address with them.
We never heard anything from the store or IOA.
DD broke up with her BF whom she had been living with two months after we returned from that trip.
She moved back in with us.
Things got ugly and the only commuication between the two of them was through lawyers:(
Finally, six months later, BF moves out of the house and DD has to go collect some of her things from the house and she finds a box what was shipped last July from IOA. BF had never called to tell her to come get it. ( BF turned out to be scum beyond belief). Anyway, it turns out that the store could not remember which one DD had wanted, so they sent a box with one of every kind of kittie angel ornament they had!!!
It has been a long sad mess that DD is going through right now, and when she found that box with the 4 ornaments, she sat down and cried. She was so happy to get the one she had lost. I just wanted everyone to know what a nice thing US/IOA had done. We are just sorry we didn't know about it when they did it.

What an awesome story, perdidobay!!

I know the pain of losing a pet and believe me, I don't believe it was a coincedence that she got those ornaments.

Your DD has a furry little angel watching over her!

:D
HUGS to you Robin, I remember when you lost your furbaby.
DD does feels Tiger is her special angel :D

I remember how painful it was for me to lose my cat after 13 years. He saw me through everything....childhood, marriage, children, etc. About 5 years ago I was in a christmas shop and saw some ceramic kitty angels. Like your daughter, I found one that looked just like my cat. It hangs every year under the angel at the top of the tree. :( I am glad for your daughter that the box was found and it was great that Universal was so kind as to send several different kinds to make sure your daughter got the right one.

I forgot to add that one of my favorite ornaments is a kitty with wings that a member of this board sent me. It's black and white like my cat was and is a treasure.

Like Sleepy, my kitty had seen me through the death of a child, a divorce and a move from state to state... 17 years of devotion. Getting back on your feet after having something love you that unconditionally is difficult. I hope you DD finds solace in their kind gesture.
