When we received our mail yesterday there was an envelope from WDW Parks and Resorts. I had no idea what it could be--we have no trips planned right now. But when I opened the envelope there was a $28 check! The accompanying letter said that they were glad we stayed with them recently (our last trip was in Oct.) and upon a review of their financial systems they discovered we had been overcharged for something (didn't say what). So they were apologizing for the oversight and correcting the problem--thus the $28 check.

We didn't notice anything amiss on our bill when we checked out but I'm going to dig out our vacation stuff and see if I can find anything.

Not a huge amount of money but its nice to know that they do try to correct their oversights. Granted, we pay a lot to go to Disney but it is nice to know they pay attention to their billing. I'm just glad it wasn't a bill stating that we OWED them money!

Disney often double entries a charge on your bill. I have had it happen three times, once everything on my bill was entered twice, hard to believe but true. That is why the night before we are to leave I walk down to the front desk and ask for a print out of my charges. Everyone should do this, in happens often enough to warrant the precaution of checking all the entries on your bill.

$28 bucks showing up in your mail box is a great suprise! ::yes::

I'd like to open my mail box and find a letter from DVC stating, "Although you purchased 300 points, we forgot to give you our BCV special double points days. Here is another 300 points for your account with no annual fee's or taxes.":earseek:

Yup, I'm sure that's going to happen any day now! :p

Apparently they must have just gone thru and audited their records... maybe for 4th quarter?

We stayed at least one night in September, October, November, AND December... But it doesn't specify during which trip the error occurred.

... And we just got a check, too, this week - for $37.50. My DH said he wants me to frame it - that it's just so unusual for Disney to be giving US money... :) But, no way - I'm depositing it!!

That is very good, indeed!

We have been over charged twice by Disney. Once was a purchased item that was double billed, and last year our entire bill was not only billed to my credit card, but my mother in law's as well (she purchased her Hoppers at check-in with her card, so both her card number and mine were on the bill). Anyway, that took a phone call and a few days to straighten out.

I got a check yesterday too.... for $5.50!

I missed it... glad they caught it!

We got a check too for 22+. This had to be from oct/nov food and wine trip. I remember looking at the room charges on the flight home and noticing we had been doubled charged for items purchased from the food booths. I was going to call, but life, as usual, got in the way and I never did follow through. Imagine how amazed we were that Disney caught their error without our prompting! It was indeed a nice surpirse!

However, seeing how may have already posted here...wonder what kind of a glitch they had in their system. that's a high ratio to have so many of us state that we received checks!

That's what I was thinking. Sounds like they had some strange computer problem going on. It's odd so many checks arriving at once. I also wonder why they are sending out checks. I would guess that most of you used a credit card and I thought usual policy would be to credit the same card.

This should also be a reminder to all of us to carefully check the bill. Disney does make mistakes. ;)

Wow--there were a lot of us who got checks. Maybe it was a glitch in the F&W Fest system. There were several days that different food stations wouldn't take our room charge. They stated there was a problem with the system. So maybe that's what caused the overcharges?

Maybe something they can work out before next year.

And we did use a credit card so you would think they would just credit the card. Oh well--it all spends!!

Great! We got double charged for beer that we bought over by the Norway pavilion in Epcot on the last trip. I spotted it on checkout day and the BC front desk took care of it.::MickeyMo

We received a check for $7. I know for certain this was related to our Food & Wine trip last October and was due to double charging of stuff put on the key card at a couple of the food kiosks. I had caught about $20 worth of duplicated charges on our room bill the morning we checked out and had these charges corrected (without any problem). When our December credit card bill came, we had an extra, separate $7 charge from the BWV front desk. I knew right away that it was duplicate charges from F&W, but decided that it would be too much trouble to try to identify which charges were being duplicated, since I had shredded the original bill once it had posted to the credit card and been paid. The timing of the room bill and the additional $7 were just one day apart, but my credit card billing cycle closed on the same day as the first while the other posted to the next month's bill. I figured my time was worth more than it would take me to convince someone over the phone that the extra $7 was a duplicate charge when I couldn't tell what it actually represented (although I suspect a couple of charges, one for $3 and one for $4).

I was pleased to get the refund, since they were having a LOT of trouble with the wireless handhelds being used to transmit credit card and room key charges. I bet they ended up with a significant accounting imbalance for receipts from the F&W kiosks.

We were once overcharged (double posted) for $4200.00 :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: Wouldn't have been so bad but it put us over our limit. Had a heck of a time, I think 3 phone calls before it was fixed. No way we would have ever missed that one.:teeth:
