Nice Resort in Pompano Beach?

I hate to be negative, but don't look for one. We stayed at the Best Western Beachcomber, but I have to tell you, I was not impressed with the beach there. There was lots of trash and it was not well kept. I don't think it was just behind our hotel, either. The public beach at Fort Lauderdale looked much better, so you may want to go further that way. I may be spoiled because we normally go to the Gulf/Panhandle, with the best beaches in America, but I tried to go out on the beach once while there with my husband, and we quickly put on our flip-flops for safety and went back to the pool. Yuk!

I have never been to Pompano Beach so can only make a couple suggestions based on reviews and ratings at TUG - Timeshare Users Group.

Fairfield Royal Vista and The Native Sun are both pretty well-rated timeshare resort properties in Pompano Beach - both are located right on the beach.

Santa Barbara Resort & Yacht Club is located on an intracoastal marina but with access to the beach via Royal Vista, across the highway. It has pretty good ratings as well.

If you are seeking a luxury brand name resort that you are likely to be familiar with, Marriott BeachPlace Towers is located in Fort Lauderdale. This may be more expensive, if you will be renting rooms nightly.

Since these are timeshare properties, weekly rentals will save you some money but do not include daily housekeeping service. The best prices are usually from timeshare owners. You might find some suitable rental ads on TUG (see link above) in their classified listings. Amenities vary considerably by the resort. HTH!

We stayed at the Four Points Sheraton at Pompano Beach a couple of years ago. We had originally booked a condo in Ft. Lauderdale, but long story short, didn't end up to be on the beach, no tv and no phone, was really scary looking. The guy at the front desk referred us to the Four Points and it was a lovely hotel. Right on the beach, pool just off the beach, nice restaurant. The room had 2 queen beds with a balcony overlooking the beach and a little kitchen type area with a little fridge and a full-size microwave and counter area. For the money it was really quite nice. It has been a few years since we stayed there, but we liked it.

we stayed at a Motel 6 in pompano beach that was right near coconut creek where my great aunt lives- they didn't exactly leave the light on for us...but then again, I guess I'd be stretching to call Motel 6 a "resort."

Long, long time ago there used to be a great Holiday Inn at Pompano Beach with 1/2 on the ocean side of A1A and 1/2 on the Inland waterway side of A1A. You could take your boat there and tie up. There were two pools one on each side of the road and beautiful putting greens on both sides of the resort. Rooms had kitchens and there were even bungaloos on the ocean side of the resort. Food was great, service outstanding, beach excellent, and it was a fabulous resort.

Don't know what it's like these days, or if it is still there. I have lots of wonderful memories of the place from years past, I learned to swim there. Shuffleboard, scuba, snorkel, pool snacks, great landscaping, and golf putting.

Nope, this is a Howard Johnson's converted, not the hotel we stayed in.

Maybe my old resort is gone. Looks like the link above might help for Pompano Hotels. Have a great stay.

We own a timeshare at Sea Gardens Beach and Tennis Resort- it is now a Fairfield property. I think it is a great location. There are items to rent on the beach - chairs, umbrellas, jet skis, para sailing, etc. Pool on the beach, another pool surrounded by plants, hot tub, tennis courts and a great bakery just 3 blocks away in a little shopping center. Also a nice rest. on the beach in walking distance. Our timeshare has a washer & dryer in it - a definite plus at the beach. Our condo is on the 3rd floor. The building does have an elevator. The property actually has 5 different areas. Our timeshare is in the part called the Waterfall Gardens. You can see it at
