nice inexpensive hotel near Niagara falls?

Hi!

My DH and I are discussing heading up to Canada in Sept. I am looking for a decent hotel, that will accept 5 family members, and not be too expensive. Some of these hotels are what I would pay at Disneyworld. Ok...I like Niagara Falls, but not nearly as much as I like WDW!!

Does anyone know of a moderate hotel in Ontario?

What area do you want to be? Anything on Clifton Hill is a good location to the tourist stuff and the casino. Its a good many blocks from the falls though.

We went to Niagara for four days last June. You MUST stay on the Canadian side. It is so beautiful. I ended up getting a room at Sheraton On The Falls for $45/night on Priceline.com. I always check out www.biddingfortravel.com before I place a bid on priceline. Here's some examples of what people have been getting lately.

It has an indoor pool on one of the upper floors and a beatiful restaraunt that overlooks both the falls. It isn't directly across from the falls, but it's in the "downtown" area of Clifton Heights near the casino and all the themed chain restaurants. We absolutely loved this hotel and trip.

I ususally get the Renaissance through Pricleine too. It should cost less come September. In February I got it for $30 a night.
It's a pretty nice hotel for the price.

I'd also check www.casinoniagara.com If you sign up for their free players advantage card, you can get some fantastic hotel rates especially on weekdays after vacation season is over. If you book through their website you get $20 free in tokens for the casino.

I have never used priceline, so I will check it out.
I would like to be near the falls. We don''t necessarily need a view of the falls. Just something nice, where there will not be a dead person in the mattress. (sorry could not help that one)

We have only been there once, without kids, and it was quite a while ago.

Will check in to all these suggestions.

I can promise you, Sheraton On the Falls is a "No Dead Guy Under the Mattress" award winning hotel.

My girls and I are at a Sheraton suites a few blocks from the falls, for $41 a night through Priceline, for the end of July I would give them a try
