Nic hotel

I haven't been to US in years as I had a poor experience and felt Disney had more to offer. I was thinking of taking my nephew to stay at the NIC hotel as he's a Spongebob finatic. But hiss main interest would be the pool area. I know swim weather is questionable Dec and Jan. When would be the best time of year to go? do you think Feb or March is okay? We'll only go a few days.
