NHMickeys Question of the week... 8/28/01

This should be easy!

I live in Ocoee, FL. Been here for a long time. I live with my hubby David and my angel Alexandria. We have no animals.
I work for WDW (DTD). I've been working for Disney since 1989, right after graduation from high school.
Other hobbies instead of pin collecting would be my first love Barbie Dolls. Then there is sewing for dolls and cross-stitch.

Love to read, crafts, scrapbook, collect Barbies, and Star War toys, and hot Wheels..... go to WDW...spend money on pins...hehe.....My DS is interested in the pins only when he can trade mine and not his...my DH puts up with my additions and is very tolerant...(what a sweetie)...Want to learn to
garden but I kill everything!

Nat I need some tangerine tree advice!
PS....I think you need to add dancing to your list of talents...lol

We have three very precious (well sometimes) little boys. The oldest is 6, middle 3, and the youngest is a very precocious 2.

I am mostly a Domestic Goddess but I also have a job as a marshal on the golf course in our community here in North East Texas. I play golf at least twice a week so I spend a lot of time outside. When home I am either cleaning (yuck), on the puter (well duh), reading, or writing my book. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get everything I want done so my moto is if something has to suffer let it be the house cleaning...HEHE I grew up a military brat and have lived in Texas for 9 years which is longer than i have ever been in my life even if I have moved 4 times since I got here... Other hobbies include: snow skiing and scuba diving.

Britt is a computer programmer who works for a small software company called The Kernel Group He is their Principal Software Engineer. He has been with them for 8 years. The company resides in Austin and he travels there once a month for a week and the rest of the time is up here working out of his home office. He usually tries to play golf with me once a week and again on the weekends with his Dad. He enjoys computer games, playing the piano and violin, scuba diving, reading, snow skiing, golf and being with me...HEHE

We have been married for almost 8 years and they have been very busy and happy years. I introduced him to Disney the first year we were married and boy was he hooked. We got into the Pin Trading right after it first started in Nov. of 99 took me 3 days to talk Britt into letting me get a pin then another day to get him to wear some on a hat. Darrin the CM from EpCot (although he was at MK then) showed Britt some cool pins and from that moment on he was hooked. came home and started PinPics in Dec. and have been at it ever since.

I live about five minutes from Judith M. I am married to an assistant principle of a middle school. I expect we might get to see him again on a regular basis sometime around the end of Sept. Right now he is putting in 10-12 hours days. My screen name is what I do for a paycheck. After many years of doing it at a world famous eye institute, the lure of job I could get to in 10 minutes with no traffic lights was to good to pass up.

This leaves more time to drive the kids. At 15, 12, and nine you can usually find me at one practice or another. Currently soccer and marching band. Summer is swim and dive team.

I enjoy planning my next Disney vacation, yoga, and a really good book on a sunny day in a comfortable chair near some body of water.

That's me

I work at a NHRA (National Hot Rod Assoc.) track. My hobbies are, gardening, cats, mystery books, tetris and making friends. Just love anything to with Disney and Tinker Bell. All I can think of right now to say.

Well I'll try this. I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA but now live in Rockledge, PA which is a little borough right outside of Philadelphia. I work for a CPA firm in Center City Philadelphia as a ParaAccountant which is a fancy name now a days for a Bookkeeper. Besides pins I also like to collect pieces from the Disney Collectors Club. I love to do needlepoint and give them as gifts especially when someone is having a new baby. I also enjoy reading and I have recently discovered the author James Patterson.

I am single but looking. Don't have any Disney kids of my own but I do have the most adorable 10 1/2 month old Disney Godson named Trevor. He also has the cutest Disney Brother C.J. (short for Christian J.) who is 22 1/2 months old. So we have two big birthdays coming up in October on the 4th and 10th. They also happen to be my cousins as well. In fact, C. J. will be going to WDW in October for his first trip. So eventhough it will be around my 15th trip, it will be so much fun to see WDW through his eyes.

I discovered this board due to a conversation I had with an cast member at the Disney store in the King of Prussia Mall. At the time I didn't know that I was talking to Shirley38 so I thank her for the tip.

Well that's about it. Hope to meet some of you on my trip this year in November. Oh, by the way, can someone tell me what time the Pin meets are at the Contemporay on Friday nights? Hope to make it.

Cathy

Well.......gee.....my life sure seems dull and boring compared to all of you! How do you all find the time to get online? I DO have the time and can't seem to get here as often as I would like!

I live in Philadelphia, along with many other Disney Pin Collectors......not in the same house mind you, just the same city!!!:D

I have an awesome son, who is 8 going on 20! He is also an avid pin collector......His passion is Pluto......but he has a nice collection of Mickey in various sports, ANY dinosaur from Disney Quest or Animal Kingdom, and Toy Story!

I got BITTEN at the hands of Shirley38 (Muah!!!!!) in February of 2000 and have not been the same since!

I am trained as an RN in Trauma ICU.....but as many of you know, I am not working now for various and sundry reasons....

I apparantly belong to an elite group here! I too can kill a plastic plant!
But I do my best to at least keep some flower beds alive!

My time is spent with my son, our dog (german shepard/Lab mix), our three cats (Mushu, Little Baby Kitten Thomas O'Malley the Alley Cat and Disney Magic), Boy Scouts and church activities.

Oh yeah......and trying to get my pin collection up to date and frame the darn things!

Cool thread.......!

I've been trying to find the time to post all week. I've loved reading about all my friends...learned some very interesting things.

I was born in Wisconsin, moved to Michigan for graduate school (GO BLUE!), and took a promotion to Syracuse, NY, where I met my husband, Mike (a HS teacher), and gave birth to our son, Sean, who is now 15. Transferred to CT in 1990 with Carrier, a division of United Technologies Corp. I've worked for UTC for 23 years, and am now working for my fourth division, Sikorsky Aircraft. We build helicopters. I'm Manager of HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems), which means I'm in charge of the computer system that pays everyone. In 2000 we implemented a new system, which was a great deal of work but which justified my traveling to Florida many times (yippee!). I was in Orlando on October 1, 1999, standing in line to buy the Pin of the Day (remember those?) and stood there wondering why I would stand in a long line when I could be riding rides. Started talking with the people in line and haven't been on a ride since! (Actually I try to get on at least ONE ride every visit.)

I started posting on Disney internet sites while I was planning my October 1999 visit, then discovered the DIS when I got hooked on pins. Went to the first NYC Pin Meet on February 12, 2000, where I met Peggie. A few weeks later we met Leslie for lunch one day, and the rest is history. We were thrilled when Dom discovered pins and joined our little group, and now we have Wanda, Caroline and Joanne in our little meet group and we can't get together often enough.

The August Pin Event was an amazing time, but because I've spent so much money on pins this year I will have to postpone my next visit until December. I will be down for Christmas and New Years, although I will be bringing my parents and won't be able to do as much with the pins as I usually do. Of course I will get to the Boardwalk and give Leighton a big hug, and can't wait to introduce my family to the Peachident. I assume there will be a Contemporary Pin Meet on December 28th and I will do everything in my power to get there. In 2002 I do not expect to visit very often, but the future is very bright. Last year we bought our retirement home -- and it is 15 minutes from WDW! It will take a few more years to get there, but someday I will be living pintrader's life and loving every minute of it.
