NHL Stadium Series: Kings at Sharks temperatures

So it's going to be Sat, Feb 21 at 7 PM at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Forecast high temps are in the high 70s during parts of the next 10 days. I'm wondering what might happen if it stays in the 70s.

It was 63 deg F at game time for the Dodger Stadium game. However, they had to remove the insulation well before then so the teams could warm up on the ice. I thought they waited until the last possible moment to remove the insulation.

Certainly the ice won't melt. However, there could be issues with playing conditions or water not refreezing quickly enough. Of course some of these outdoor games were played while it was snowing, and that's not ideal either. I think I can guarantee that it's not going to snow for this game.

Okay I remember vaguely the temperature was a concern last year. I could see those being issues, hopefully in another day we'll know what their plans are in case of issues. Yeah I don't think there will be any snow there.

Since the game is in the evening, I think the ice will be fine. The temp drops low after dark.

The people who make the ice for the NHL and the system they use can handle these temperatures and are not worried about the sun and heat; it is rain that they worry about. Many of the players told the the ice team that the ice at Dodger Stadium was fantastic.
