NHL Cancels Entire Season

I Don't know if anyone is a fan of Ice Hockey.

I was browsing the News and I found an article explaining that the NHL have taken the decision to cancel the entire season as they have been unable to come to an agreement with the Players representatives over rates of pay and Terms and Conditions!!!

I wonder if this will end up being a good move for Ice Hockey in that they manage to gain control over spiralling costs or if it drives it even further into the sporting background as even more fans find other sports to occupy them.

It's an amazing step for a professional sports organisation to have taken.

I can remember two NFL players strikes in the twenty odd years that I've been following American football. Neither resulted in the loss of an entire season although one did reduce the season to something like 5 weeks instead of 16.
