NFL Pro Bowl Coming To Orlando in 2017

I'd go if we were in the area, but I wouldn't make a point to go for this. Now Superbowl.... heck yeah! lol.

The pro bowl is 100% useless...

I mean...really...

And Orlando for some reason has been dumping money into the citrus bowl and now they are kinda stuck with a big bill and nothing to do with it...

Hey city hall, next time you want to spend money - I have two words for you:
1. Roads
2. Schools

And if that doesn't work - try water purification plants.

The only thing they really have is the bowl game. Which in fairness brings in a good chunk of change. It makes me wonder what their ultimate goal was? And NFL team? Not gonna happen

Pro Bowl would be improved if it became a skills competition (ala the slam dunk contest, home run hitting contest, etc)...have the ending event be a flag football hail mary play (best qb, rusher, wr, and cb)...have money/prizes for each winner of each event...

They do a celebrity flag football game and that's more interesting than the pro bowl.

Yippie, professional Touch Football. Is the pro Bowl two hand touch or one hand touch? I forget.

They really want the Rays.....

Also not going to happen.

The players don't want to play a real game because the chance of accidental injury is too high if they go at it full force. So they go soft. In so doing, they take the soul out of the game right there.

Then there are those marquee players who don't want to play, period. We aren't really getting the collection of the brightest stars. That alone makes the game less interesting before it even starts.

And then there is the format over the last few years. Ugh. I'm never sure who I want to root for when I see each side with members of my NLF team. The team captain thing just doesn't work for me, as I don't care which captain wins. And the uniform colors they have had lately make me want to spill some protein.

Watching the Pro Bowl is like getting stuck with a lousy white elephant gift. With each passing year, the Pro Bowl becomes more and more of a farce. Most of you have seen the game. Or at least tried to watch it once, maybe even as deep as the end of the first quarter. The game is boring. You know it is.

No problem, just pointing out "entertainment wise" it can be exciting to have near WDW for many. They may have events throughout that week and weekend as well (maybe even at WDW?), might be some entertainment there. Maybe at WWOS complex. Will see.

Either way, coming back for FP+ will make it a great/er day.

The pro bowl isn't a week long event like the super bowl is. I don't think there will be anything at WWoS.

Practices will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort simultaneously with youth football events and a fan fest.

"Collaborating with Disney and ESPN brings us closer to the best in youth and family-focused entertainment. We look forward to working with the city of Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports to create a week-long celebration for football and our fans

Pro Bowl players will also be able to bring their former high school or Pop Warner coach, and participants on the winning team will earn a grant from the NFL Foundation to aid in the development of their high school programs.

According to the press release, there will be a Pro Bowl-themed 5k run, a parade of Pro Bowl players in the Magic Kingdom, and Pro Bowl-themed elements throughout Disney Springs, Disney's newest entertainment and dining destination.

"We are excited to re-imagine the Pro Bowl experience for both fans and players and to celebrate the game of football at all levels," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement released Wednesday.

"Collaborating with Disney and ESPN brings us closer to the best in youth and family-focused entertainment. We look forward to working with the city of Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports to create a week-long celebration for football and our fans."

The tie-in with Disney and television partner ESPN made Orlando an obvious destination for a Pro Bowl switch despite interest from several other cities, including the host of this year's Super Bowl in Houston.

Hell, look at the stands last year. They were nearly empty. That being a state that has no pro football except for the pro bowl.

Don't see this as being a great move for Central Florida.

Okay yes I was wrong. I was going off what they did in the past because it was never a week long celebration. This is likely being done to attract more interest in the crappy game that it is.

Duh ya think.

They really want the Rays.....

Also not going to happen.

Because the rays are held hostage in an awful 80's building...also built for nothing.

I would expect that the Rays wouldn't fare any better in Orlando than they do in st Pete...just not a captive market.

Definitely agree.

They just gave up on minor league baseball.

Soccer it is.

Tampa is a decent sports market (football and hockey esp.) But the trop is crap and never will attract crowds
