DS15 (my bears and lions fan to the core, although he likes NE and Seattle too) is disgusted that everyone is bandwagoning Denver so he wants Carolina to win (and he has met Ron Rivera as well and liked him).

.....
I like Denver for the win, but I also like Carolina. They have a good future ahead of them and I think they will be back a time or two in the coming years, so I'm staying with the more experienced Denver for this one :yay:

May the best team win!

Where is this happening? I cannot even listen to any more NFL talking heads and commentators because I'm sick of hearing everyone say CP is going to win hands down and it will be a blow out. I hope Denver stays the underdog as it has served them well all season!

Man, it seems like the Broncos will once again run into one of those "buzz saw" teams. No way was anyone going to beat the Seahawks a few years ago, and it's looking like the Panthers are that "buzz saw" team this year. That said, if they can go another game without a turnover, keep the game close in the 1st QTR, and have that defense play lights out one more time...!
I agree with you partly. It does have the same feel as a few years ago when they went to play the seahawks. However I think the defense for the broncos is wayyyy better than they were 2 years ago. I have never, ever, seen anyone get such pressure on Brady like that. I don't think that's ever happended in his career. So I think this will be a totally different game due to that factor

Haha, I wouldn't put too much stock in my son's comment - he is a 15 year old boy and thinks he knows everything. ;)

The big difference we have this year is Wade Phillips. He definitely outcoached sweatshirt boy's offensive line. (sorry, he so screwed up our team so badly during his tenure here that there is no love for him. Great respect for the Pats except for McDaniels.) You can be assured Phillips will come up with a outstanding game plan for his defense to rein in the Panthers just like he did for the NE game.

I agree! The defense your team has is really amazing. And Peyton Manning is more than capable of winning a game for them. As a native new Orleanian, as is peyton, we have much respect and love for all the mannings. So I hope peyton gets his last shot for glory and rides off into the sunset. ...and then becomes a coach cause he would make an amazing head coach.

Coach, NFL Commissioner, or Sports Analyst. Any of the three would work for me.

I hope so. Carolina's offense is good. A good running QB is deadly, and they have that in Cam. No doubt both offenses have the potential to score, often. It'll come down to defense again. If Denver can adjust to slow down Carolina, this will be a great game from start to finish.

I think the entire state of Tennessee is hoping he comes back here. He could probably have any job he wants short of UT head coach.
Why wouldn't they give him UT head coach? I think he would kill it. He would run the offense, obviously, and all he would have to do is get him a good defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator.

Ooops...I shouldn't dual task. Ha!

I wouldn't mind seeing him there but right now Butch Jones seems to be very popular. Tennessee really loves Peyton so I wouldn't totally be surprised if he would win out over Coach Jones. Heck, he could probably be the next governor if he wanted it.

I vote for network sports commentator.

His degree is in speech communications, he obviously can speak, he knows offenses and defenses, he has great camaraderie and rapport with reporters, broadcasters, and former players, and, with young children at home, it would be a great lifestyle, with most of his work/travel on weekends.

And, forgot to add, the pay would be great - not that he needs the money.

While this is the most likely scenario, I would be sad to see this. He has such a great offensive mind it would be sad to it go to waste

I can't see Peyton becoming a coach. It just doesn't seem like something he'd be inclined to do. Not a lot of QB's become coaches - not sure why, but it just doesn't seem to happen.

GM or VP of Player Personnel somewhere, maybe, along the lines of what Elway did. Or like others have said, go the Troy Aikman route and become a commentator.

I adore Peyton and I hope he does go into broadcasting or something he loves but his voice actually grates on me. I'm not sure what it is as I like southern accents so it's not that. I can't pin down what it is but I just don't care for his voice. Eli doesn't sound like Peyton at all and I'm not sure I have heard their oldest brother Cooper speak.
