NFL Playoffs

I haven't been on here in awhile so I had to stop by before the big game.

I am overly excited about the Giants right now! Tomorrow cannot come soon enough! I feel great about the Giants chances in the game!

I think the Giants will win it for quite a few reasons. For starters, they are on a roll right now and the whole team is playing the best football they have in few years. Eli is proving every weekend that he is elite (I never doubted that he was!). The Patriots defense will never be able to hold Eli and their WR's down. The Giants were able to play well against the best defense in the league a couple weeks ago, I really can't wait to see what they do against the worse! The Giants defense is playing some great football right now and I think they will be able to get to Brady. I also think the Giants are in the Patriots heads a lot. I have watched a lot of player interviews over the past 2 weeks and the Patriots are focusing more on 42 than the Giants are. The Patriots want revenge and I think it is going to hurt them in the end.

I think the biggest thing though is defense wins championships and the Patriots defense is horrible. I know they had a good game agaisnt Baltimore, but Flacco and the Ravens' offense is not nearly as good as Eli and the Giants' offense. The Patriots defense will not be able to hold up tomorrow.

I am so happy that I already have no school on Monday:woohoo: After the NFC Championship game I did not get to bed until 1 am and I was a zombie the next day in school! If the Giants win my school is having a Giants dress day on Tuesday too!:woohoo:

LETS GO BIG BLUE

Also I have to say that I have been LOIVING the NY coverage of the Giants the past 2 weeks. All of the stories have been hilarious and great! I love how Bloomberg changed the name of the bar Brady's to Manning's for the Super Bowl again! I love how the Giants had pizza from Long Island brought out to them to have after practice yesterday! I love all of the Cake Boss cakes the Giants have been getting!

I love all of the Eli stories too. Eli is truly the opposite of Tom Brady personality wise. I have been reading some great articles about how Eli is so down to earth in New York and in Oxford, Mississippi (his offseason home). There was one store that involved Eli going over a neighbor's house in Mississippi to use a can opener! Now I just could not see Tom Brady being that normal and doing that.

Love that Eli is playing in the SB at Peyton's "house" against Peyton's rival too. I think a lot of locals that will be there will be cheering for the Giants!

It is so much fun! I can't wait either...

On GMA on Friday(or Thurs) about how Eli Manning's wife flew with their DD to Indy in COACH...I looked at DH and was like, "Oh heck no!" If he were a pro ball player I would NOT fly coach! Just shows how down to Earth they really are!

I think it is going to be a great game, but COME ON...Cruz, Nicks, Manningham?
It's over...BUT...We DO need to watch our offensive line...

I hope every one ha a great day tomorrow! Have fun and BE SAFE!:thumbsup2

You do remember that Eli said he would REFUSE to play for San Diego if they drafted him right? I don't think he's so sweet and "down to Earth" as people like to think he is- that sounds like a spoiled brat to me.

Disclaimer: Lifelong Patriots fan.... even when they totally sucked. :thumbsup2

That wasn't really Eli, that was more Archie telling Eli where he should want to play.

He was a grown man.

Sure, legally but are 22 year olds really grown ups? Do you really want to go down this path? Hmmm, who left his pregnant gf to be with a supermodel? Good ole Tom was quite a bit older than 22 when that happened...

I think Eli is way classier. YMMV.

I'm not in NY so I've missed all the Giants stuff going on. Darnit. I was kinda bummed last night watching Blue Bloods that the characters were all wearing Jets jerseys. I thought there would've been some karma in seeing Bridget Moynahan wearing a Giants jersey!! NFL Network has been replaying SB XLII quite a bit the past two weeks. They've also shown this year's Week 9 match up a lot. I'm excited but nervous about the game. I think if the Giants play to their potential, they will win big. I know everyone without a dog in the fight wants a close, exciting game. As a Giants fan, I want a blow out!

Go BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!

ummm...yeah. Tom presents himself very well to the media and that is all I have to go on. He seems like a normal guy.

In the end though nobody cares how 'classy' either one of them are. They are measured in wins, Superbowl titles, and TD's.

Yes. 22 is grown up.

Actually I believe when Bridget and Tom broke up NEITHER of them knew she was pregnant and they are now raising a son together, even if they aren't a couple. I love how people try to make it sound like Bridget was in labor and Gisele walked by the delivery room and Tom took off. Don't go slamming the two of them (and it takes 2) for having a child out of wedlock because I would venture a guess most of us on this board love someone who got here that way.

Eli Manning was a whiny man-baby stomping his foot and saying he wouldn't play for the San Diego INSTEAD of being grateful for the chance to live out his dream and play in the NFL no matter WHICH team drafted him. Brady was a 6th round pick who worked hard to get there and then continued to give it his all and look where he ended up.

I think tomorrow's game will be a good one.

I can't stand Tom Brady, but I am also sick of hearing "how he left his pregnant girlfriend". Once and for all, HE DID NOT KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT. Yes I just yelled that. Please people stop saying that. And by all accounts he is a great father.

Maybe Eli was a whiny baby who didn't want to play for San Diego. His dad knew what it was like playing for a bad team for a long time, and he didn't want that for Eli. But he's not that whiny baby anymore. And yes, he worked hard, and he faced a lot of criticism in his early days. Heck, he faced it up until winning that Super Bowl a few years ago. And even after that.

May the best team win.

Talk about a local spin on things, and I don't mean you, I mean the media. Because all the news reports and interviews that have been shown here, every Patriots player and coach has said that they aren't giving any thought to what happened in the last Super Bowl matchup with the Giants because that doesn't mean anything. And every time they have been asked about getting "revenge", they say this game isn't about revenge. That isn't the way this organization does things, so the idea that they are focused on revenge and that the Giants are "in their heads" is just laughable.

I wonder how many of the players from 2008 are even still on these 2 teams. Probably not too many.

I have the news on right now and I think they just said that there are 8 Patriots who have played in a Super Bowl. And that doesn't mean they were playing for the Patriots at the time. I'm going to see if I can find out.

Yep - here it is: Only 7 current Patriots were on the team when they played the Giants in Super Bowl 42. And 17 Giants players.
Not About Revenge

Maybe some fans are looking for revenge (I am not one of them, I just want us to win), but the players are not.

Thank you for that! Some people should write for the Enquirer. It's refreshing to see some actual facts without juvenile drama intruding. From a Pats fan to a Giants fan...:worship:

I'll buy you a virtual drink if the Giants win. :teeth:

You're on! :thumbsup2

I think that old story comes up all the time because people can't find any other fault with Brady. He's the best quarterback of his time, and he's certainly in the top 10 best of all time. He never gets in trouble. He's married to a supermodel. So people cling to that one so-called blemish. I've written a similar paragraph too many times to count. I can only imagine how annoying it must be to Patriot fans.
