NFL Playoffs

....not for nothing, but where are all the Pats fams? Can't you guys be good sports and congradulate the Giants for winning? As much as I can't stand Belichick, Brady, and the Pats, I have to admit they really gave the fans a great battle and truly were worthy opponents. I hate boring games - this one lived up to all the hype! :thumbsup2

I posted on Monday and congratulated the Giants.....One of the best Super Bowls I have ever watched for sure...hope for a re-match next year.

Interesting... before the game I sort of abandoned this thread because it seemed to be all Pats fans and I didn't want to intrude on their party.

Love the picture of Eli and Mickey in the parade!! I've seen the commercials a few times now.

Honestly, I don't think they need to post at all. (and I know I saw some of them post on other threads.) If the Giants had lost, I know I would have had a hard time posting congrats to the Pats. They don't owe anyone anything.

...that's a deal - I'll be there if you will...;)

BTW ~ I don't think too many Pats fans are happy with THIS :scared: :

I don't have an issue with it....we've had more than enough Parades here in Boston since 2001 between The Pats, Sox, Celts and B's :goodvibes I forget the actual numbers but I think 11 out of the past 13 seasons at least one of our teams has made it to at least the Divisional round of the playoffs.....Which is part of the reason people have started to despise The Pats no one likes the top dog, hence why people hate on the Yankees for no reason.

I'm ok with The Giants and their fans celebrating and even gloating because they earned it....The Pats didn't throw up on themselves like they did in '86 against the Bears or '96 against the Packers, they fought hard and got beat, no shame in fighting and losing only shame in laying down when there is a fight to be had :thumbsup2

Really you think they are the top dog?:rotfl2: They have more SB loses then they have wins. They do not have the most, by a long shot, of SB rings. They have not even appeared the most times in a SB game. BTW the teams who have appeared more often have a wining record, unlike the Pats (3-4). Both the Redskins and the Raiders have three wins. Guess what. They both have winning SB records. Only NE thinks they have a dynasty.:rotfl2:

The Pats' head coach was caught being dirty and that is what people do not like about them. As a Giants fan it saddened me when BB, our former defensive coordinator, did the underhanded things he did.

The SB was a very good game.

Regarding the part I bolded, are the Pats really still the top dog? Since their last SB, both the Giants and the Steelers have won two SB titles and before this year they hadn't even won a playoff game since 2008. I know it's downplayed as "no big deal" by Pats fans but I think Spygate has an impact on why other fans dislike the Patriots.

Ohh I must have read the wrong thing, the link took me to the Parade article....

I don't have an issue with it...he played hard all season and during the Super Bowl....What is he supposed to do curl up in a ball and cry over a loss?
No way he was releasing energy and getting his mind off the loss...Like I said The Pats have nothing to be ashamed of, they played and fought hard all season, they are allowed to do whatever it takes to get their mind off the loss....I know when I have a bad day at the office the first thing I want to do is enjoy a nice glass of Crown and blast some Metal to get my mind off it, then move on.....:goodvibes

Coming from a NE fan who still remembers the really, really crappy days of the Patriots...this is why...

Since 1994, the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs 10 times, advancing to the Super Bowl on five occasions. No other NFL franchise has earned more than three Super Bowl berths in the past 15 years. With a 173- 91 (.655) overall record, the Patriots have won more games and more often than any other team since Kraft purchased the franchise.

Under Kraft, the Patriots have experienced one of the most dramatic turnarounds in the history of sports. In the four seasons immediately preceding Kraft's acquisition (1990-93), the Patriots compiled an NFL-worst 14-50 (.219) overall record, which included a 1-15 finish in 1990 and a 2-14 record in 1992. The Patriots were not only last in the standings, they were last in attendance and overall revenue.

The sad part is Spygate really isn't a big deal, they just got caught breaking the same rule everyone else was. Former players and coaches on other teams have admitted such. The only major rule they would have broken would have been taping practices, which the NFL found no evidence to support that claim, therefore they are presumed innocent. The media sensationalized what should have been a non-issue, the Pats ignored a memo, lost a first round pick and still went 18-1....it's akin to the Steel Curtain using steroids in the 70's, a non-issue because everyone else was using them.

They have been a top dog in the sense that they have had the best QB and been in the Playoffs almost every year since 2001......Trust me people hated The Pats way before "Spygate".....

It is simple. People have always hated consistent winners. I understand how you feel. Really I do.
