"NFL LITE" AKA COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2024

I get the player safety aspect of doing the go for 2 only after 2 OTs, but it’s still silly. Granted, it’s also fascinating to see what coaches and players have left in the tank for those 2 point plays when it goes to 8 OTs.
I agree, and that was a wild game. Emotional game for the head coaches.

I never thought the forced going for two was for player safety, but simply to help decide a winner. Or are you suggesting forcing going for two in every OT?

I’m saying when they make the shift from the first 2 OTs starting from the 25 to just being a go for 2 at the 3 yd line is kind of silly. I get it can decide a game quicker once it’s gotten to that point, but it’s like the NHL regular season shootout post OT period where it just seems more like a glorified skills competition wins you the game.

Doesn’t mean it can’t be entertaining, just a little gimmicky.

Gotcha. I forgot they did that. I'm still used to 1/10 on the 25 and starting with the 3rd OT, must go for two after TD. I thought thats what you were referring to.

Same thing with Soccer games being determined by the Kicks "shootout".

It is a combination of player safety and expediting the end of a competition.

Ryan Day may be packing his bags.

Also that was an ugly scene afterwards-pepper spray had to be used reportedly.
I watched the end of the game, I didn't note any pepper spray. If they did use spray it was very isolated.
Ryan Day look like he was in a weird daze. While his assistant coaches were working hard to separate and send the Ohio State players toward the locker room, Day just seemed to stare and mutter. Meanwhile the police formed a line to separate the teams.
Bad decision on the part of Michigan players to try to plant that flag on the O. Unsportsmanlike.

I’m watching the Washington State game on my phone. Hubby and the kids have been monopolizing the living room tv, and it’s supposed to be “family time”.

Another fight happened between NC State and North Carolina when a NC State player tried to plant their flag.

And there were a little skirmish in the Iron Bowl.

It has been a testy Rivalry Weekend.

Planting flags by a visitor player on a home teams field should be punished by a 1/2 game suspension at the next game. If a senior does so with no remaining games left, 1 game suspension for the HC.

Same with the Mich / OS game:

Ohio State Coach probably be fired soon. A scoundrel.
Ohio Sports fans are the worst.
BTW:
They are the ones that got beer sales banned in some sections of Dodger Stadium from fights.

Did the CFP Committee do the correct thing in placing Bama ahead of Miami,Ole Miss and South Carolina or was it a case of BAMA BIAS?

They're ahead of Ole Miss & SC in the SEC standings. Not sure what tie breaker it went to, but that's a mathematical formula, isn't it?

Bama or SMU?

Some are saying if Bama gets in they are done following College Football.

I am going to grab some popcorn and watch the circus it is going to be tomorrow no matter which one the Committee puts in!lol

I think SMU should stay in, don’t think they should be penalized for losing a championship game that close. We’ll see though.

Have fun in the Reliaquest bowl against Michigan....Bama. . That's formerly the Outback bowl in Tampa. Formerly the hall of Fame bowl.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
