Nexus renewal?

Has anyone renewed their Nexus card recently? There’s an online option available now. I would like to know if applying for renewal early affects how long your current card is valid. Also, any idea on how long the renewal process takes?

we did ours online and they mailed us our new cards with in two weeks. they use the same photo on file

Just wondered what impact there is on the expiry date for the new card. Is it 5 years from the expiry date of the old card?

i assume so mine expired in 2021 and now expires 2026

I renewed early. Because I renewed before expiry they extended the validity by IIRC 1 year past expiry., It took many months for them to approve the renewal, I was renewed without needing an interview.

The new card they sent me expires 5 years from the expiry date of the old card, so there was no "loss of time" by renewing early.

I received an email from the NEXUS program today. In it they state "Existing NEXUS and FAST members who renew their membership before the expiry date on their card will retain membership privileges until they can complete their interview. Please renew your membership before it expires to avoid losing your privileges."

They're automatically extending membership 24 months if you apply for renewal prior to expiry. My wife was auto approved and has her new card but I've been waiting for about 6 months with no update.

Not a renewal, but I went online last month to report a lost card and received a new one in the mail in less than two weeks.

I did the renewal application for my daughter online a couple of weeks ago. I have not heard back yet. She’s 18 so I doubt they would use her old photo because kids change so much. I have three more to renew that are expiring in the coming months. I’m relieved they have extended them the 24 months.
