Next Year!

After a fortnight in Orlando at the Sheraton Safari, it seems next year's holiday location will be 'Orlando' once again.

Naturally, it depends on the money situation.

The thing is, obviously we would like to plan the holiday differently. In as much as not, spend all the days at the theme parks.

What other interesting things do you recommend away from Disney, Sea World, Busch Gardens and Universal/I.O.A?

Is Gatorland a must? Even, Old Town? Any info would be much appreicated.

Kennedy Space Centre is AMAZING... may not suit young kids, but fantastic for adults and older kids. A great learning experience.

Cocoa beach is a nice day out. It is a good drive away but very chilling once you get there and great if you have small children.

If you want a beach, I'd go the other way to the Gulf coast and Clearwater or St Petes. As for the KSC, seeing a Saturn V, the launch pads and the shuttle is an experience even small children, especially boys, will enjoy.

I agree with AndRu - Cocoa Beach is nearer but the beaches on the west coast are worth the extra drive in my opinion.
Especially as you can make a full day of it, Clearwater & St.Petes beaches are great and you also have the option of stopping off at Busch Gardens on the way.

Old Town is different, in the past we have enjoyed it there although less so this year - if you do go much better atmosphere on friday & saturday night.

If you really want to vary the holiday unless you are enjoying the facilities on-site or relaxing in a private villa you possibly may need to consider a 2 centre type, staying away from Orlando for part of the holiday.
