Next SW release watch???

Just received a DING already today!

So now I am thinking not today :headache:

We fly out of Buffalo or Detroit - has anyone else noticed the lack of DINGS from these airports? Maybe we are driving them crazy by checking all of the time and they are getting back at us!

C'mon Southwest open up for the summer. Please, please, please.

There is a web cast scheduled for Wednesday...sometimes, and I stress sometimes, these types of things preceed a schedule release.

Okay, it appears we have a new SWA booking guru: Deltachi8! :cheer2:

That "and I stress sometimes" bet-hedging statement won't let you off the hook should your Wednesday prediction fail to materialize. :stir:

;)

SWA is killing me with this. :badpc:

The fare, by a couple months or so, probably. It seems those DING fares come out only when SWA wants to fill up some empty seats on certain flights they can't fill with their regular fares.

But usually, I've found that DING fares are not a whole lot better than the "internet one way" fares you can get when fares are first announced, if you can click fast enough. But DINGs are great if you weren't able to get the internet one way fares the second they're announced.

Quick question...
My printer just died. If they release more dates before I hook up a new printer and I want to purchase tickets, if that going to be a problem???? I thought I remember hearing that you have to print your confirmation page out once you complete the check-out process. Can I get back to that page? Do they email me a link to that info?? Or am I thinking of something else entirely, lol??

Another question...
I need to get airfares for 11 people. Am I better off just calling SW and having them book for me...or should I take me chances and book it online in 2 transactions?

Thanks in advance!!
Jennifer.

You can just write down your confirmation number and then when you get a printer go back into travel center and there is an option to pull it back up and e-mail it/print it. You do not have to print right after purchasing the tickets.
As for 11 tickets you can do a group booking if you want. Call S-West for group #. You won't be able to get the internet fares but you can do them all once.

Thanks for that info!

I think then that I will try very hard to book as many tickets as I can at the lower fares. We all would need to be on the same filght though. I'll see what I end up with. Hopefully that will work out.
If for some reason I can't get all the seats on the same flight I'll have to call SW group # and have them help me figure something out. Are their group rates anywhere close to what their internet rates are? Anyone have info on this?

Oh yeah...I didn't appreciate Mr. Lightsticks waving those darn lightsticks at me all day while I was at work...very distracting to say the least, lol.
Knock it off will ya!! Darn you Mr. Lightsticks, LOL!!

Jennifer. :crazy2:

Thanks! While we're all waiting around maybe I can pass SW 101 w/some help from yunz guys...

I've read other posts where DIS'ers have purchased tix; then cancelled them for various reasons (lower prices i.e. DINGs, or just change of plans).

In my wildest dreams would I expect an actual refund but, do you get a credit or a voucher?

If a voucher is issued how long is is valid (via a booking or travel deadline)?

Is there a "change fee" (in addition to any price increase) assessed if you change flights?

TIA

:badpc: :badpc: uugghhh.....another email special...purchase thru midnight tomorrow......this is getting ridiculous! :furious: It has GOT to be today or tomorrow.....we are flying out tomorrow night for Florida and will only have computer access till sometime early Friday evening! SW, if your rates weren't so cheap.......:furious: C'mon already!!! :hyper:

Okay, stupid question, but I've never booked SW online. Can I only book one internet fare at a time? I need 5 tickets.

You want to get five tickets (people), is that correct? If so, yes, you can book all five at once.

Keisha -

I don't know about a "change fee" if you change flights.

However, if you cancel a flight and book another one, there is no fee. There is also not usually a refund. The funds from the cancelled flight are kept as "ticketless travel funds" and can be used to pay for the newer fare. Anything left over in the ticketless travel funds can be held up to one calendar year after the funds were created.

If I'm wrong in the "calendar year" part of the previous paragraph, someone please correct it. I honestly can't remember if the calendar year is after the original flight was booked, or the date of the original flight, or the date you cancel/rebook.

Mr. Lightsticks is still being a jerk. I see the big webcast is 15 minutes from now, assuming they mean eastern time. Come on, fares.

Well, so much for the "after the web cast" theory...unless the speaker is reeeeeeeeeeally long winded and is still going! (I haven't actually tried launching the web cast, but I assume its over).

C'mon Mr. Lightsticks - let us through already!

I fly out of Providence, and there's a good amount of flights to Orlando on SW, so I'm still holding out for my July flights, but I'll admit - This waiting is getting to me a bit. Everything else is booked and paid for except for our airfare. One thing we have going for us is we're flexible about when we leave. I had planned on July 6 for a flight first thing in the AM, but would also have no problem flying out July 5, in the evening, and they usually have an early evening flight, and a later one, so hopefully, something will be open when they eventually do release the dates.
