I just looked at my vacation itinerary and the countdown is 107 days for my WDW vacation to begin!!! On one hand that sounds on the other I'm beginning to think I should start walking now!! That might be the only way I'm going to get there!!

Mine is still about 140 days a way, but I'm starting to think the same thing. I could be wrong, but maybe SW is simply more used to business travellers who only have themselves to worry about and book at the last minute anyways.

It seems we all have one thing in common - We like the great prices, but we also don't want to wait to get our flights booked. It's nice to have it done and out of the way.

I've always said as annoying as Southwest is, they must be doing something right, as they're one of the only airlines to report a profit. However, just from talking to people at work and such, I think they may need to change their system a bit. It does seem people (myself included) are getting somewhat tired of playing Southwest's waiting game. Eventually, I think this will hurt them.

I still watch AA website too. Their $198 RT from St. Louis to Orlando was only advertised through June 9. I noticed they took this special off their website last week and are showing no specials for St. Louis to Orlando. Makes me wonder what is so special about June 9? I guess the only consolation is that if we're not booking tickets, then no one else is either! However, what kind of frenzy is this creating for summer travelers?? PUHLEESE, let this be the day!!!!!!!! I feel like I'm obsessed!!

Good morning SW waiting pals! Hey, are we gonna miss each other when this wait is over?

Since you guys are checking your countdowns I just checked my official number too - 128 days to go for us. We're going again in September, so I get to start the waiting game all over again soon too

This July trip is a bit of an un-anticipated add-on since my BIL and his family will be down to WDW for the first time and we live literally on opposite ends of the country (CT and WA) and we have a niece who is 6 who we have never met...so it should be a great opportunity for a family gathering!

Here's hoping that TODAY is our day!!! (these rates better be pretty darn good too )

There was a report on the news this morning that both SW and Jet Blue were raising their fares as of today. Probably won't be alot, but I will say this: If SW doesn't come out with fares today, after that story got leaked and people hear about it, they will lose LOTS of business. People will just say to heck with SW - If they're raising their fares, why bother waiting any longer?

.....and I decided to call SW 3 times and got 3 different CSRs, asked if they knew when the schedule would open...

1st CSR: "They don't tell us when, but we're anticipating later today. Call back this afternoon."
2nd CSR: "We have no idea, they don't tell us."
3rd CSR: "We were told it would be later today."


Come on SW!!!! This waiting is killing us.....here's hoping that today is the day!!!!

Howdy Neighbor!

Have you ever thought of flying in or out of a neighboring airport to save $$$? I've never done it, but since we're so close to some others the thought has crossed my mind (especially with this wait - I did look at Jet Blue rates from Boston but they weren't super-great). I did have to fly into Manchester NH once coming home from a business trip when NWA cancelled my return flight into BDL and it wasn't that bad...I guess it would have to be a pretty substantial savings to spend the time and gas $.

All these experts on here with their predictions, all failing to come to fruition. Who can one depend on these days?

Good luck everyone. Just leave me 4 tickets from BNA to ONT when SWA deigns it a good thing to let us purchase our dates.

KrisinU, yes, we thought about goung to another airport but it isnt practical for us esp for this trip as we will be leaving -we hope- after dh gets out of work so no time to make a long drive. I'm from NH oringinally, and having made many trips back there over the years to visit relatives I know it wouldn"t work for us. NY would be even worse. But who knows? We may change our minds in the future! PS it is snowing here, does snow make anyone else but me even more anxious for those warm weather tickets?
