I stole this from another thread here on the board (Ding History Thread). There was a link in the thread to a FlyerTalk Forum FAQ about SW Airlines and their release dates. Here is the info:

TIP #1
Last 2 Years:
2004 - Released on Feb 13th for flights thru August 7th
2005 - Released on Feb 18th for flights thru August 3rd
Both of those days were Fridays.

TIP #2
When the current sale is "through the end of the schedule" rather than a specific date. Well....the current sale as of today is "through the end of the schedule" and the booking dates for this sale end at Midnight on February 9th. That is a Thursday night.

TIP #3
When the current schedule drop down to the 112-135 day range the schedule is usually extended to the 150-177 day range. As of today, the open schedule is 128 days (02/01/06 to 06/09/06). As of February 10th, it will be 119 days. In 2004, the extension came at 119 days. In 2005, the extension came at 107 days.

The FAQ also goes on to say that the schedule is usually extended on a Thursday morning at around 10am Central....but, the dates listed show that for the last 2 years....the schedule was extended on a Friday.

To sum up all of this....I think we a very close to the schedule being extended. Using the information list above, I would say that SW will extend the schedule no later than February 10th. I say that because it has been extended on a Friday for the past 2 years and the current sale will end on the Thursday, February 9th.

Of course, we are already in that 112-135 day range in which they usually extend the schedule....so, we can't count out this week either.

Hope this helps.....that schedule extension should be coming very soon!

Speed :teleport:

:rotfl2: I don't mean to laugh but I read this and wondered if SW sits and reads our watches laughing at the way they can torment us! I imagine them in front of their computers for their daily DIS laugh and when they think we can't stand the wait any longer they make us wait some more. They then release when we least expect it, see my example of being on vacation in Maine and trying to get to a library to book, and watch the DIS frenzy as we all try to book at once! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

It is now 2pm and no ding. The talk has been yesterday and today for late June announcement and nothing, absolute no dings today. I leave for work in a hour and don't know what to do. I will be watching this board and if a ding arrives after 3pm can you please announce it. I will then try to talk my wife through the process to check the latest ding. People are starting to think I'm crazy when I say I am waiting for a ding. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Brumeiser, I'm with you....I've was so sure today was the day, and I've been glued to my seat all day at work checking the SW site every 10 mins or so.... :badpc:
Yesterdays Ding was a big one with so many markets included that I convinced myself they were trying to sell a lot of empty seats before releasing the new schedule. I haven't given up hope for today yet though. I'll post any new developments as soon as I see anything, if everyone else doesn't beat me to it!!! :goodvibes

This is just getting stupid! I am checking the website 10 times day. Why or why don't they just open the schedule like everyone else does??? We are getting a big storm in the east today. Lots of people will be on their computers--they should do it this weekend. This is almost worse than waitng for the AP rates to come out!!

Here's hoping! :wizard:

Okay, here we go again....

Is everyone over the disappointment from last week? ;)

Ready to watch like hawks again this week for the schedule to open???

It's gotta be this week......right??? :rolleyes1

OK, I'm ready to put on a happy face and hope for this week to be the week! C'mon SWA!!!! :cheer2:

I wonder if the storm might not push back the release date. I would think their call volume goes up when they release the schedule. And with all the people that need help with their cancelled flight they might want to avoid people calling for new flights.

Uggghhhh.....not exactly what I wanted to hear, but good point! More waiting and watching....

Add me to the list of waiters. This is sad. :sad2:

Basically I need to get one of those "internet special" deals to Ontario, CA for our potential DL trip. It's really the biggest wildcard left in determining if we go to DL or somewhere completely different for our vacation this year.
