In Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium is really awesome and the World of Coke is cool too.

What time of year are you planning to travel? It can get super hot and muggy in the summer. My family from PA would come visit me in Atlanta and then complain the whole time about it being hot.

Georgia's a pretty big state.

I think you need to narrow down where you're visiting/how you're getting there to get some good suggestions.

Two years ago we stayed in North Georgia for a week. There are several beautiful waterfalls in the area.

Coastal Georgia can’t be beat. Savannah, all the barrier islands, so much fresh shrimp!

My favorite island is st. Simons.

Stephen C Foster state park is off the beaten path but really a neat park to see wildlife. Beautiful swampland.

It depends on how long you are staying? Where are you staying? What time of year? What you like to do?

It is a very diverse state with LOTS of beautiful places and plenty of things to do, it's a very individual thing.

#1 place that is a standout world wide is the Georgia Aquarium. After that I think more info would be necessary to send you in the right direction.

I love Savannah. Lots of history. Beaches and lighthouse at Tybee Island. Charleston is nice with good history but feels more like a big city at heart

Chippewa Square in downtown Savannah. It is home to the world's most famous bench.

I've been living in Georgia for 8 years now and we've been to Savannah, Tybee Island, St. Simons, Helen and Blue Ridge Mountains. I'd stay away from the city of Atlanta. You can visit year round but if you want to go to the beach, swim, etc. Then go in the warmer months. I went to Savannah in October and it was still very hot. There's a ferry in Savannah that takes you to Hilton Head. We did 3 days in Savannah and St. Simons. We really could of been there less time and been fine. Helen has Octoberfest and is pretty in the Fall. Blue Ridge the same, pretty during the Fall.

No offense but this cracked me up! Stone Mountain is part of metro Atlanta. To me a day trip is driving a couple hours somewhere and back where it takes all day. There is plenty to do there that you might want to spend a good part of day but you don't have to. Just didn't want OP to think that is was far away. Last week DS drove to Stone Mountain early, hiked up it to watch the sunrise and came home and was only gone a couple of hours. We don't live close to it but we live in metro Atlanta. I can probably get to Chattanooga faster then Stone Mountain from where I live in metro Atlanta on a weekday. But I would also have to stop at the Bucees on 75 North and spend 20 minutes there. Thus taking more time.

If you don't live where they exist, or haven't been to one, make sure to visit a Buc-ee's! And, if you like chicken tenders, Zaxbys.

(Lol... we usually just travel through Georgia on our way to/from WDW. Have been to Stone Mountain, though, to see a laser show, years ago.)

I went to Georgia when my dad was on a business trip and we stayed in Atlanta and Georgia is such a lovely state and Atlanta is very awesome and I even went to the Atlanta Underground shopping area which is full of neat shops and restaurants. I also went to Cleveland Georgia where you can see where Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls got their start and the Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland General Hospital is really cute if you adore Cabbage Patch Kids Dolls. And there is also Mall Of Georgia in Morrow Georgia that has really cool stores in it too. I liked Georgia because it was really pretty and the people are so friendly too and cheerful

Well if you are in north Ga. and like hiking check out Cloudland Canyon in Rising Fawn Ga. also in North Ga are some neat little towns. Ellijay, Blue Ridge are a couple. Couple hours south of Atlanta outside of Columbus is Callaway Gardens and not far from that is Providence Canyon state park. Both worth checking out.
