Next DVC resort

Tried a search for this topic but no luck.

When I called DVC for information on SSR I asked about future additional resorts. I was told that plans for 4 more resorts have been done, 2 of which are already funded and will begin when SSR is done. The sales reps have not been told where they would go, but said they had pretty good ideas where. Also that as new resorts were added they would come with later end dates too.

Any ideas on locations of new resorts?

That's the first I've heard about "four" more resorts. No doubt one is Eagle Pines at the Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge Golf Courses. It has been rumored around here for quite a while that another would be at the Contemporary Resort in one of the old wings.

I tend to think that the DVC future will be to use current infastructure similar to what DVC has done with their last 3 projects. We will see.

The day before yesterday, A "Little Bird" told me that there is a big announcement coming early next week.

The way it was explained to me, it was a "mandatory" meeting for certain DVC personell ......which, I was told, could only mean one thing......Big News.

Now, it could be the point price issue, but my "Little Bird" very much thought it was something much bigger.....

I wonder what happen to their newsletter that say WDW was updating the Cont - it vanished.....

I don't know how I should have taken the "little bird's" news, but it sounded like it was going to be big......I was told that if a meeting is "Mandatory"....Then it's big news.

Along these lines....

How long does it normally take to sell out a DVC resort (liek Phase two of SSR)?

How long would you anticipate it will take to build the "next" DVC resort?

How soon will they begin selling points to the new resort (before construction, during, after, before SSR is sold out)?

I'm trying to guage when points will be available for the second or thrid resort of these rumored "four"

when OKW was still being sold - they start selling - BWV, HH and VB - so new customers (members) got a choice. OKW was even called OKW until BWV was selling - it was the DVC!!!!

most of the time DVC has been selling two or more resorts.

they couldn't with VWL or BCV because everything else was sold out and these resorts sold out much quicker than their orginially plan.

So I don't think the DVC guides would have a problem selling 2 DVC resorts at the same time. They like to give member and prosective members a choice.

right now it is either SSR or nothing (unless you read these boards and know to ask about the sold out resorts and going on a wait list for them.)

it just depends upon the opportunities out there - if WDW has offered the Cont - I don't think we will have to wait years for it to be built at all!!!!
