Next DVC project?

I'm just speculating of course... but Disney does rank the south garden wing on the bottom of their resort list, even if DVC does not move in there it's days are numbered. They said there are issues with people not realizing their room is not in the tower and guest disappointment etc etc etc.. I was shocked to see their ranking

I've read several times over the years that the ground underneath what would be a "south tower" would not support such a tower and that it is not cost-effective to try to make it support such a tower, especially since there's really no "selling point" to such a tower (no park views, etc.).

So what's the deal? Was that argument bogus or true?

Sometime in the 2009-2011 range (I believe it was December 2009), there were reports of them drilling test holes. There were photos appearing of this area being blocked off.
A guide we talked to at BLT claimed there were testing to determine if it was financially feasible to build a second BLT tower using current construction knowledge. (We know Disney keeps information close, so the guides may or may not have had real information).

Whether the claims of BLT II are correct or not, we will likely never know for certain. There was certainly plenty of smoke indicating they were considering construction in that area.

Regarding, the "Seven Seas Lagoon Tower," there is potential for the site to be developed, but not in the same scale as Bay Lake Tower. If you search the regular Disney boards, you will find rumblings of a tower half the size of Bay Lake.

There is also talk that CR is somewhat off the radar because an appropriate balance of cash, convention and DVC bookings have been reached.

Expect something in the future, just not a mirroring of BLT.
