Next DVC project?

Once the Poly is complete that will wrap up adding DVC to deluxe resorts.

Do you think they'll build another DVC property like SSR or OKW?

I really hope so.. I love the DVC feeling of those resorts.

That's the one I'd like to see. Or even at POR, because I really like the landscaping there.

That would be my bet. That's where the space is and that's the next best location, IMO.

It's relatively small anyway. I think it does pretty well in the grand scheme of the deluxes. Probably because of its size. Location too, of course.

Fort Wilderness - They have room. It was supposedly one that got shelved in the past, so I would say its a strong possibility,

Wilderness Lodge - I have heard there are occupancy issues with the hotel. If that is the case, it makes conversion of some rooms seem likely. I wonder if it would be incorporated into VWL (with a longer contract) or be a "new" property separated from the current villas there. My guess is the former.

The Fort will happen someday. There's a whole niche that is to be experienced there by some who don't need a big cabin, don't have (or want to rent) a camper/MH, nor want to tent.

Yes this is by far the most likely next ground up build. I think with the location it will end up being the best DVC for those of us who prefer the non hotel style DVCs

I think you are referring to Discovery Island, which is in Bay Lake. Do not really know anything about it tho.

They should cut the BS, build a 5th park, more resort hotels, and then they would have plenty of options! Come on Iger, open up the checkbook.

Yes, space is an issue at Yacht Club. Plus, it does an extremely good convention business and doesn't appear to have occupancy problems.

Fort Wilderness because they do have room and they will need something BIG and new to sell in the future like a SSR/AKV. Room conversion seems likely at VWL, BCV and BWV but who really wants to pay the prices they are asking for retro-fitted units that already have issues? Especially when those resorts have resale opportunities.

Fort wilderness-- There is a ton of room--- the camp grounds. Really at this point I can't believe they are still there. The values have been built. What a huge waste of expensive real estate. Unless they are able to consider this part of their preserved land, but I doubt it. Lets see some log cabins and tee pees on the lake-- with a lagoon separating them....... at night we can shoot muskets and arrows back and forth. Rent a canoe and invade the enemy's fort.

Jokes aside-- probably something at FW. Also think the remaining garden wing at the Contemporary is on the chopping block. Probably all studios.

The FW complex plans were designed a few years ago as project 2011-2 and a copy made it to the internet. Since the project has been designed and started, it's a safe bet that it will happen someday.

Yeah, maybe that's it. It's been a long time since I heard about it. The same person who told me about the island also told me about VGF coming (and this was several years ago). Bet somebody is sitting on plans / ideas for 20-25 years down the road. Another park would be great but we gotta get past Avatar Land opening first.

A Fort Wilderness DVC resort would be a huge hit i think and would wrap up all the resorts on the water.
