Any idea on if DL will extend any of the current promos into Oct? If so, when do you think it will be released?

Can't remember last fall's deal. I know the good neighbor hotels will give an extra night free with a three night stay usually.

We're thinking about combining a trip to Hawaii with a stop at DL on the way to or from Hawaii from Iowa. Thought it would be a fun add-on! This would be my first visit to DL & after doing lots of research on WDW for a trip last year, I'm not as up on DL. Traditionally over the last couple of years, what promotions have they had? TIA - I'm sure I'll have many more ?s to come!

Last year the deal came out in the end of August beginning of September. The deal was $400.00 off for Fall. There have been good deals every year, they just come out later and later each year.

I read something somewhere (I know real specific) that they're going to stop all those show stopping bargains for awhile now that the economy is recovering. I wouldn't expect anything good real soon.

I also read that they're trying to cut back on discounts, and last year they had a huge turnout for the "Halloween Season" so it wouldn't suprise me if disney doesn't really offer many discounts. However, some of the good neighbor hotels may have the buy 3 nights, get one free or something similar.

Disney has announced that it would like to try to begin eliminating all the discounts it has been offering. Apparently they are not making enough of a profit and this is the best way they can think of to make more. On paper it makes sense - stop giving discounts and you bring in more money on the same amount of guests. In reality, IMO it will significantly decrease the number of guests who visit the parks (both DLR and WDW) and end up causing Disney to lose more income in the long run. Everybody has gotten somewhat spoiled I think always looking for a discount, but it's hard to plan a decent trip without one. Let's hope Disney reconsiders and keeps the discounts coming, at least the ones for DLR :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm not sure if you're right; but if you are, I say bring it on! I'd happily pay for full price tickets if it resulted in a significantly less crowded park. Think of it -- more rides, more pleasant experience. I'd consider it getting my money's worth.

Disney has made $$ from us only because of the discounts. We went to WDW twice last year, once this year, and are taking our first trip to DL soon. We couldn't have made all these trips without the discounts.

I'm hoping for a good AP rate for October.:wizard:
