next big merger - 1st choice and TUI

I work for first choice at one of their call centres. What do you think this means for me?

I don't know what it might mean, but I hope it works out well for you :)

I really hope your job is safe, have they made any noise about when you're going to be spoken to about it?

the way I see it is it could go one of four ways....
1, Thomsons take over all call centres so first choice high st level is safe but first ch call centre level is redundant :sad1:
2, many First choice high street shops go but the call centre staff levels remain or go up from the increased customer numbers but decreased high st level of service :woohoo:
3, one huge call centre is opened and staff are asked to relocate or push off :sad1:
4, every call centre remains the same but you'll be retrained on the new merged routes and new products :woohoo:

I really have no idea, please let us know when you've heard something and good luck

travel weekly says today that Peter Rothwell, deputy chief exec of the new enlarged company says that the First Choice brand will be preserved on the high street.
and both company chairmen have stated there is little overlap of shop coverage so there won't be a mass closure (but figures state there are actually 200 overlap shops and 200 shops with average 4 employees per shop still means 800+ jobs)
