I am SO excited because I booked the wedding venue of my dreams! We originally wanted to get married at Disney- but we couldn't make that happen.

So we set the date for Nov 8, 2009 at Castle Mcculloch in Jamestown, North Carolina.

We are still having our fairytale wedding for sure. This place is BEYOND perfect. :lovestruc :bride:

I just had to share because we didn't think we could afford this place, but apparently... having a wedding on a Sunday makes it a good $1000 cheaper. The place is still pricey for our range, but I want to have a fairytale wedding and so does my fiance. My whole family is disney crazy- so I can't wait to figure out decorations.

Formal brides or ones in progress.... please give me some advice for next big steps? I am overwhelmed and need a sense of direction!

Thank you!!

Wow...that place is beautiful!!!

and as much as it pains me to say this...have you checked out the planning checklists and stuff at the knot? They have lists and articles and such that will help you not to forget anything. You can set it up like a "schedule" based on your date and eliminate (or ignore) what you don't need to do...but you will be sure to get what you do need!

Oh I forgot about the knot. Thank you!!! That helps a lot. :flower3:

I would suggest Martha Stewart Weddings.com

You can input your own tasks and delete the standard ones that you don't want. You can only input all of your vendor info, guest list, and seating charts

Gorgeous location!

I think one big step you might wanna take next is booking a photographer. They can book up a year or more in advance. :thumbsup2

thank you everyone.

My fiance attended a wedding there (I couldnt go..sniff) and when I looked the location up online.. i was blown away.. so when my mother and I were able to visit last night- I knew that was the place. I knew as soon as I walked up to it. It was a crazy feeling.

But yeah... they were already COMPLETELY booked up for the month of October. I know that's a popular month.. but practically every weekend was booked solid. :( That's when we originally were going to have it.

The bridge w/ the lights is so pretty!! That'll make some great photos :) I love the Crystal Ballroom, all those windows...WOW :)

WOW i love that place! It's so beautiful!! Don't forget to save some invites for your DIS friends! We want to go too!;)

My very good friend had her wedding there 4 years ago in October. She did a Sunday too for the savings:thumbsup2 It's a beautiful location!

My only tip from her wedding is make things a bit earlier than you would on another day of the week - she planned the reception until midnight, but most of her guests had to work on Monday, so we left before 10 for the drive back to Raleigh.

Oooo.. yeah I didn't think about people working Monday morning. Yikes. It is an evening wedding.. so oh well. I know my friends will stay- and most family is from out of town..so it shouldnt be a problem. But thanks for pointing that out.
