Seriously though their coverage is awful. They refused to cover hockey, and their 'talking heads' make it feel like CNN for sports. Just no thank you

They don't cover hockey because it's a supremely expensive sport to play and therefore isn't a viable economic option for most Americans...therefore no market.

And bettman continues to allow the Canadians to make it nearly unwatchable...

Blocked shots and Greco Roman cycling in the corners isn't interesting to anyone south of Thunder Bay, Ontario

I'm wondering what they're planning to do with the Disneyland railroad considering it goes through an expansion area. I was expecting Fantasmic to close too, since some backstage areas are in that place as well.

It sounds like the entire rivers of America will be drained for infrastructure work. Interesting to see if DHS starts at the exact same time or not.

I think they meant NHL, maybe not but I know NHL games are on NBC and NBCSN sometimes

I believe NBC has a 10 year exclusive deal with the NHL. As for the ESPN layoff I'm not surprised. They run 8-9 TV networks and multiple websites they need to trim down. The NBA contract, that starts next year, they signed is a huge increase in price, which has to be evened out somewhere else. ESPN has also been dragging their feet on a on demand product which is expected to be the next big revenue source for them.

I don't follow...the four major networks all carry an NFL
Contract...

Maybe I'm just missing the tongue in cheek?

Yep, that was a typo. I meant NHL, since the conversation was about why ESPN doesn't cover hockey. I went back and corrected it.

First look at the Pirates refurb

Disclaimer video quality isn't good but you can still tell things have been enhanced.

Star Wars looks like it will cause some issues at Disneyland. Fantastic, Disneyland railroad and other things will be closed starting January 10th for Star Wars construction.

wow, they weren't kidding when they said they were making ground in 2016. I thought that it would be late into the year but good to see it's happening very soon. Hope that groundwork starts for Hollywood studios too soon.

From what I've heard DHS Star Wars construction will start later. Disneyland needs a good amount of infrastructure work before they can start actual construction.

Well, as someone that is heading out for a rare Disneyland visit in February, here's my feelings:

1) Not happy that stuff is being closed, especially the WDRR, but that said there is nothing too tragic being missed here, and it's encouraging that they aren't puttering around with this. If they are closing this many attractions, it seems to me that they won't drag it out. Bodes well for Florida too.
2) If Fantasmic is going to be closed - that hopefully means WoC will remain open, which is more important to me to see. Even better would be if they keep Paint The Night going as well.
3) I am really hoping to see Hyperspace Mountain - so I'm a little disappointed that the announcement just says the opening date (11/16) and mentioned for a limited time, but doesn't say anything about for how long. I will be really bummed if they end it before we get there.

Love the new ads! The diversity is great. However, I feel like this will certainly stir the pot with some folks...

Why would this stir the pot? They probably went a little overboard and showed an unrealistic amount of diversity that does not exist in the parks, but nothing for people to be mad about. I was expecting some in your face gay couples kissing or somet

When they announced an extension for the 60th Celebration until September next year, I decided I'd try to make it out there. The WDRR is something I was hoping to check out since it's supposed to be much more of an attraction than the one in MK. Fantasmic isn't as big of a deal, but I did enjoy it more than the one in DHS. Just being on the RoA made it so much more impressive.
