Yep. It's easier to refurbish rides at DL because when something is closed, the locals just have to come back later and that's it. At WDW guests are not happy when they miss their favorite rides.

My concern is they say there were 2 storms behind Danny...this is the 1st. I will be in disney on September 10th. Erika will be gone by then but what about the next one?

I know @lockedoutlogic will be first in line![]()
I figured the Kali effects werent put on out of laziness tbh. But on an unrelated note can I just say how underwhelming that ride is as a raft ride even though I enjoy it immensely
And I can only imagine what the Shanghai raft ride will be like...It's even more underwhelming if you ever get out to Grizzly River Rapids in DCA and see that they CAN do a raft ride right.

I agree. I see Disney as that place to escape the real world problems. A place to relax and forget that the world has problems. Some people take things a little too seriously.Wow. Not exactly what I thought this would be given the initial press. Still seems interesting though. Is this woman suggesting that Disney should feature theme parks based on segregation and war so that America is not portrayed as "perfect"? I guess I don't see the issue with creating a theme park of an IDEAL world where there is no such conflict (though I DO recognize that this particular ideal is not very diverse). Isn't the entire point of the "Happiest Place on Earth" to be somewhere you can temporarily forget those things?![]()
I saw that and was like "OH cool I'll be down there. That would be kind of neat to see. Might even buy something. It's at midnight so wouldn't even disrupt our plans."
Then I saw it was $50 to get in and my next thought was "F--- that!" (pardon my French)

Disney was never meant to be any of the things she seems to think it should be... and it could never exist that way either. We have museums for what she describes.Quite the trailer for the upcoming Disney Documentary on PBS

That's the million dollar question. This is one old school professor.Hmm... isn't that the whole point of the Disney parks? To escape reality and experience something you wouldn't normally? Walt was an optimist. What's so wrong about that?
