There is an expansion pad behind rivers of America and next to big thunder.

I don't see that expansion space. The Rivers is tightly bounded by the railway on the north side. There is some room outside of the railway (or on top of the railway like Splash) but it's hard to see how it could be accessed without a long pathway winding around Big Thunder.

However ... BTMRR at Disneyland Paris is on "Tom Sawyer's Island" and is accessed by a tunnel. MK already has a BTMRR but the Paris concept could be imitated by a different ride. I believe that this is the only possible option for expanding Frontierland.

They could possibly shorten the river a bit and add room to that while creating a path. Another speculation piece is the liberty belle will be docked because of this.

And now Lee said he would guess they're doing a rafting ride. It's a very well educated guess. That would be amazing! Big Thunder is my favorite ride at any Disney Park, but the one that would give it a run for its money is Grizzly River Run. That ride is awesome! The themeing is excellent, and the ride system is one of my favorites. Create a really immersive environment, add in either some Lewis and Clark, Dinosaur, or Bear animatronics and you have an awesome ride!

And while I'm beefing about Tomorrowland ... Cosmic Rays is pretty outdated and unimaginative as well. The AA lounge singer gag isn't very funny or entertaining, and it doesn't take much imagineering to come up with a really fun, exciting take on a futuristic, sci-fi cafeteria.

 I'm gonna pretend you're not referring to Sonny Eclipse!

I would also love to see a rafting ride. GRR is our favorite DLR ride. It's not a unique concept but it sure is a lot of fun when the theming is spot on.

I believe Space Mountain is on the far side of the railroad tracks also. Disney built that long tunnel under the tracks for access to the ride. Something similar could be done for any future rides so I don't really see the railroad as a limiting factor.

Tron coaster concept art has been released for Shanghai Disneyland

A few things:

Cosmic Rays serves more fast food than basically any other single location in the USA. Don't be surprised if they are not motivated to make changes.

I would also never remove Carousel of Progress outright. First, I actually enjoy it. Second, it has some of the most remaining Walt Disney DNA of any WDW attraction.

I do think it deserves a revamp. I'd love to see the future scene revisited, and I think it would be cool if the AA would advance in each scene to show the progress of AA. But that's just fantasy.

I'd be surprised if they build another Kali River Rapids style ride at WDW. I do think there is a lot of room behind the railroad tracks for expansion, and they can have another train stop there as another way to access the area, along with a boat dock for Liberty Belle so that it can be used as transportation device as well as a river cruise attraction.

I know they are supposedly doing more Toy Story stuff in DHS with the expansion, but I think this would be a good place for a Woody's Roundup themed area. Move the Woody/Jesse/Bulleye M&G here, put together a 4D show, a character meal, a flat ride (maybe the Maters Junkyard Jamboree style ride (rethemed to Toy Story) that has been loosely rumored for DHS), and a trackless dark ride (ala Pooh's Hunny Hunt) and that's a really nice area.

I was hoping for the Lone Ranger to not flop because I thought this expansion area would make for a nice area with Lone Ranger dark ride (and Lone Ranger/Tonto M&G) + Woody Roundup M&G, character meal & 4D show. I'm not sure they would devote the entire area to Woody/Toy Story though.

I don't think a rafting ride is happening. With Kali River Rapids at AK and a water ride already in place at Frontierland, I'd think they'd go for a high capacity dark ride or something like that. And I'm a bit skeptical about this Frontierland expansion to begin with, so I don't know what to expect. Plus, it is clear that Iger is really focused on brands and franchises, so right now I can't think of a current/popular IP that could fit Frontierland's theme besides Woody's Roundup... As other people have pointed out, the Old West and the cowboys are not exactly popular between current audiences... Lone Ranger was Disney's attempt to revive some interest in the Old West. And we know how that turned out.

Maybe have the final scene as a holographic sequence. All the family members couldn't make it so they are visiting "virtually".

I agree with this. I think CoP should be one of the "untouchables": Rides that should be there forever. There's only a few of these, that, It's a Small World, Hall of Presidents, and the Enchanted Tiki Room should get lifetime passes no matter how out-of-style they feel.

However, it SHOULD be updated, either a 5th scene added (which might be too complicated to be realistic) or the final scene updated again. (Obviously that wasn't the ORIGINAL final scene, which was set in the 1960s.) I think the mistake they made with that final scene was to try and show "future" technology, which now becomes super dated technology. Instead I think they should change it to "Here we are in the early 21st century" and show some real world stuff. Then as it ages, it looks more "classic" than cheesy.

Shanghai looks amazing, especially the pirate area. Lucky S.O.B.'s and D.O.B.'s.

I wish Disney would build a park in South America too, so the tour groups would stop coming to our parks. Sure they're nice to look at, but man are they annoying. It's like getting trapped in an elevator filled with 30 clones of Sofia Vergara's character from "Modern Family". I'd take a group of band geeks from Nebraska over them anyday.

I'm skeptical about the Frontierland expansion as well. There's not space there for anything much, unless you move ALL the giant parade, costume, and practice buildings that are backstage there or cut into Tom Sawyer's space onstage. You could go north and outside the RR tracks, but then you're severely cutting into the fireworks buffer zones, which I'm not sure they can do. Of those three options, staying onstage with Tom Sawyer seems the most likely to me, but still not the best option.

Though if they found room on Rivers of America to expand, maybe there would be a second back entrance to Liberty Square, coming in by HM. Hmm...
