Looks like Disney is doing a pretty good job sprucing up Downtown Disney.

The landing is supposed to be the place that offers that. The boathouse for one has entertainment and their boats. The hangar will probably be a late night venue.

It makes you wonder why they didn't install these in the first place. Construct a dozen hotels along the street, place a giant shopping and entertainment complex at the end of it, and... golly! Lots of people cross the street to get to it.

Tikiman has reported DVC room problems. The power has been out and reports are people are napping in the lobby because the rooms are too hot.

That sounds horrible - hopefully it gets fixed soon! Is it all DVCs or Poly?

Wow, DDLand, talk about holding onto something for a long time. That conversation was over a month ago. I don't really even remember the entire context, but according to Walt and the original Imagineers, "Plussing" was done at the initial design stage as well. Walt would walk through the offices, look through the designs they were working on and ask how they were plussing it. The conversation can be heard with Walt, and also with several of the original Imagineers in many Disney videos and how-they-build-it shows.

I will also acknowledge that plussing happens after the ride is installed.

I reread my post from earlier and realize it sounds kind of dumb! Haha! I'm assuming it was DVC Poly because it was Tikiman but it came out wrong meaning did it affect any other resorts? Haha - posted too quickly!

The concept of plussing began when Walt was walking through Disneyland and heard a mother telling her son that they couldn't do the Jungle Cruise a second time and should spend their ticket, in the days of ticket books, on doing another attraction instead

I'm wondering how you came to that opinion...

Are they working on it? Yeah...but the jury is way out.

We're a year away from the completion and they've got ALOT of announcements still to make to really bring it home.

I,m going out on a limb and saying it will be better than it was before. I like your posts and I hope you don,t take this the wrong but it is possible that because you have been to Disney so many times you could be a bit jaded. Which to me is actually something that is bound to happen to those with a ton of experience at Disney. I try to come at things on here from the perspective of a veteran and someone kind of new to Disney because they will have two very different views on what they see.

I've never claimed to be not...I suppose jaded...but more accurately frustrated with a shift in philosophy that allows very "limited" recognition of the committment that the customers make...

Here's the thing with downtown...it wasnt really "broke" and they said they'd fix it...

In 2008. They've pooched it to this point. Now they've got to get it back.

I'm worried that its going to be a glorified outdoor yuppie market...
(Yeah...I can't figure out how to phrase that any better)

Now...was it always? That's debatable. But it did used do have some degree of unique to it...not mall issue goods.

I hope they aren't just "doing it" for more capacity... As we've basically seen with magic kingdom.
