Yes they have announced studios things.

That Star Wars "announcement" wasn't anything significant. We all know Star Wars is coming and Iger has said pretty much the same thing before. All that announcement was is Star Wars is coming. No details, no location, no time.

Now a Shanghai update I could see them saying something but they don't typically announce new rides or expansions during them.
Still an announcement nonetheless. Most investors don't follow Micechat so they're blindsided. Let's face it, even they have been completely blindsided or wrong before on rumors. Until Iger or PR say they're actively developing something, it's not law. The Star Wars thing is pretty significant and sets the stage for all the things you mentioned.

They have said they have been working on Star Wars since they bought it. They had teasers at the 2013 D23 Expo. Iger said in interviews before that they are working on Star Wars. They have an entire division in imagineering for Star Wars.

The first time they noted interest was on one of those Bloomberg interviews. Yea, teasers. What happened to Orange harvest? Iger said he slowed down work there and cancelled much of what they were working on.

Investors probably don't like the sound of "according to Disney fan websites with a hit and miss track record, Disney has been developing Star Wars Attractions. According to their anonymous sources they have a whole division of WDI working on it."
They listen to the CEO and major power players. Not JHM or Micechat.

The DIS is hit or miss? They don't post rumors. They only post things they know. By the DIS I'm not talking about these boards I'm talking about the actual DIS website run by the owners and moderators of these boards. They have also been said to working to incorporate the new movies into Star Wars expansions. I have nothing against that I just don't think waiting another 6 years for something to open is the right thing to do especially at DHS.

Once all of the exterior blue sections have been removed (and there is not much left) I will be curious to see how the structural steel portion is removed and what the pace of removal will be like compared to the exterior part of the hat. I don't work in a construction field so all of this is fascinating for me to watch. The first 2 things I do in the morning after the kids are off to school are: 1) get coffee, and 2) look for the latest hat deconstruction photos.

I wonder if they will take that concrete ring off and deconstruct it somewhere else. It's really interesting seeing how they do this.

Basically any source that isn't
NYT
WSJ
Orlando Sentinal
Washington Post
LA Times
Hollywood reporter (a little sketchy but it's been pretty good on Disney reporting)
The Verge
Will be tossed aside as nothing more then rumors. Unless of course, they're quoting word for word from a Disney Press release.

Yeah hopefully it doesn't take 6 years.

But those aren't 100% reliable either. I would trust a well known Disney site used by 100s of thousands. You should look into the dis more they are very well run. Same goes for wdwmagic they do a great job as well.

Rumor is Iger will announce an opening date for Shanghai in this afternoons conference call. The date? May 8th 2016

Happy birthday to me I guess

Nope, but they're in a whole different league. You (and investors) can't take Miceage updates with the seriousness as Reuters. I look at both websites, much less of the breaking news stories and more just reporting Disney press releases. No one would take issues with these guys, but JHM would be extensively questioned

Just as I expected. That story you shared before was an attempt to deaden the blow and make it not a surprise. Disney wants everyone to know the situation when they start listening to the conference call.

Cool birthday present!

If only I could be there for my present
