Ah! But no tiers, right?

Exactly.

That was an interesting observation on the sight lines. Those things are going to be expensive. But, I think they're going to go like hotcakes. The demographic they're targeted towards will have no probs scooping them right up.

Exclusive sells big and the piped in music for the fireworks (plus right there for the water parade) is a great touch.

At however much over a grand a night they'll be, I think I'd have a big issue if they told me to stop pitching a crankbait over the side. As long as I had my Florida Fishing License, of course.....;)

Saw the piers/platforms being built up over the water last week. First impression was it's really going to change the landscape of the Poly. Thoughts then moved to how cool it could be to stay in a stationary houseboat. I wonder if they'll allow fishing off the deck?

?? I think they are finished? Or at least very near completion. Are they building something else?

All 20 bungalows are up and outside work is close to completion interior work is still going on. The walkways to the bungalows just started getting railings this week.

This makes me so happy!!! My favorite ride will now be open while I am there! I was so sad when they announced the close dates... we are there from 12/13-12/17 and originally there was no refurbishments planned when I booked the dates. I was sad to hear we were going to miss my ride by just 2 days...This is a perfect Christmas present! LOL

Those Poly Bungalows are going to be near impossible to get into, even considering they'll probably be 100 points a night.

It's kind of nice to see them going with more studios rooms. Even so, I'm sure they are going to be high points (figure similar to the GF rooms) and impossible to get into unless you own there (also similar to the GF rooms).

Not finished, but didn't mean to imply it was just the decking. I used the term "piers/platforms being built up" in much the same sense I'd use the term boat dock to describe a boat house.

I probably should have said bungalows over water......

What I really think will happen is some type of construction starts mid to late 2015 and it opens in phases with that last phase being in 2020 with the new trilogy. The first phase could open late 2016-2017 depending on what it is. Disneyland is also supposed to be getting Star Wars and it's most likely taking over Toontown and that has been said to start after the 50th celebration so that one would be very likely to open in 2020.

This makes more sense to me. I understand your previous point though. I do get Disney can be very meticulous, and agree they have not stated any designs, but I am pretty sure in the on article I read that design work on SW integration began immediately post acquisition. So a roll out type of launch makes much more sense to me as you state above.

Yes Disney has been working on Star Wars stuff since they bought it they have a division in imagineering dedicated too it. It's just a matter of when not if with Star Wars.

I've heard that in terms of money the bungalows will be $1000 or more a night if not using points.

"....due to the lack of details about its two major attractions and the dining locations that will be included."

I'm glad this is coming but I so wish Disney would depart from this tendency to spend astronomical sums of money on architecturally detailed environs that only contain a couple of attractions by including more C & D experiences.

NFE is a good example. Beautifully crafted and detailed support infrastructure but years and hundreds of millions of dollars should have and could have yielded more in terms of ride-able attractions.

I'm sure they will be-- the 2 bed theme park view at BLT are well over 1k.

I have no doubt they'll be charging $1000 a night, but they will predominantly be DVC units. My wonder is what the "per point" rate will be.

BLT Theme Park View ranges 50-98 points per night, or 368-626 points per week.
GF Lake View run 55 -102 points per night, or 407-752 points per week.

My guess is that it'll be in the GF range or maybe slightly higher because of the locale. 400 -750 points per night minimum.

In other words "99% of DVCers will never stay in them expensive".

Well the bungalows are 2 beds, so they will probably be around the TPV at BLT. (100 per night high season) maybe plus something for "they can get it". Since the other rooms are only studios, they will probably end up with a range for views from similar to the GF at 17 to 43 depending on view, season. Maybe a little higher due to size. That's not too prohibitive in my book.

Lots of hidden "changes in direction" seem to be slowly evolving at the ole DVC.

The upfront cost is rising at a rate that is starting to gut any "savings" that once existed with the program.

The per night points charges are meeting the first Point in the middle...the real cost of a nights stay is climbing.

Third...the apparent plan to dump the one and two bedrooms at poly...
While its good for my tastes...what does the elimination of the kitchens and laundry in favor of "rack rooms" with no housekeeping say about where they're going?

Just a thought or thrice
