Hmm. Does this mean the video at the end won't be showing? Is it just going to be randomly plopped in somewhere in the exhibit? Why not put it in the Sounds Dangerous theater (unless its closing)? Guess I'm going to DHS Oct 16th

At this point, I will take anything that extends the life of OMD.

When the Animation Building closed down, I talked to several CMs about where they were going was told that only CMs who were already cross-trained at OMD would be transferred there. I know it's on the chopping block. But I am in the "Tom Sawyers Island @ DLR" mindset about OMD and if it never left I would be very happy.

I thought I read somewhere, (can't tell you now the source) that OMD was pretty well already gutted...not much left in there....I could easily have this confused with something else, though, with all the changes happening. Anyone else read that?

You know - I bet 99% of the folks on this board would want OMD to stick around, including myself. However, I think most of us are happy to see so much more coming to DHS. We all hope - like you - that OMD or something similar could find a 2nd life somewhere in the park, but accept that it certainly won't be there.

Nope - just Walt's Office was removed. The rest is still there as of right now.

OMD could easily fit somewhere else, so hopefully they'll find some space around Main Street (or anywhere else, for that matter) for that attraction to go.

That is exactly how I feel with Tom Sawyer Island. OMD I have great memories of though.

The notifications are really flaky. Sometimes you can go and mark aa single forum or all forums as having been read, and that might fix it for a while. I usually just go look at my watched threads via the link at the top to see if there's anything new. That link seems to always be accurate about what has been read and what hasn't. I don't think there is a fix, because this is a board admin told me to do

When the dis did the board overhaul the new system only emails you the most recent post that was viewed. If someone posts multiple times in the thread you are only going to get that one email not multiple.

Are we allowed to say it rhymes with scheme schmark schmourist?
Anyways - right here on the DIS they also announced it closing from October 16th to December 5th. Right now they are claiming the film will be back December 5th. If I had to guess - and I do - one of two things will happen:

1) They will reopen the whole thing again one more time for the holiday season, just to have another attraction available for the busiest time of year. Then come January they will announce the official closure.
OR
2) They won't reopen OMD at all, but will bring the MOVIE only back. Because the theater is directly behind the Little Mermaid theater - it's quite possible that the theater and VotLM could survive the closures. Admittedly, this seems the less likely of the two options - why just keep the movie?

Mermaid is supposed to stay and possibly be changed for a new IP.
