Tomorrowland Speedway takes up an insane amount of space, but 5-10 year olds love it.

I think if gas prices had kept rising, they'd have removed the ride or introduced an electrical system, though.

I get that it is a great experience for children (I know it was for me). Still, I think it takes too much space, it's noisy, smelly and overall, could easily be replaced with something more substantial to balance the number of E-Tickets at both sides of the park. Just my personal opinion, though. I can understand why someone would be against it.

Make no mistake. I would be very enthusiastic if they repurposed the speedway for an "expansion" of Tomorrowland. I just recognize why they likely won't.

I love Wreck it Ralph, so I like the idea of a sequel. Given the recent deal between Disney and Nintendo, I think it is safe to assume that both parties are interested in a sequel. It might've been a little too early to announce it though.

Theme Park Tourist reports a meet and greet test with Flynn Rider.
"During this limited-time test, Flynn Rider will be running around Fantasyland (literally!), getting into trouble and interacting with guests, asking them questions about where Maximus is and enlisting guests to help him solve various problems that only Flynn rider could have. Though this new experience looks like it will provide guests with quite a bit of interactive fun, if you’re hoping to get a selfie or an autograph with Flynn you’ll sadly be out of luck. According to the Magic Kingdom times guide, “Flynn Rider is on the run throughout Fantasyland. We just never know when or where he will show up. He can’t stop for autographs, but keep your eye open and you may get to snap a picture of him on the run.”

I agree. Space Mountain at MK should get the 2005 Cali update and get a proper roller coaster. The problem is, are they willing to shut Tomorrowland's E-Ticket for over a year?

They should have enough rides in MK to shut it down for a bit if they really wanted to.

Any chance they would do some sort of Cars ride in frontierland? I know they are doing pixar in HS, but if they wanted to do movie based rides, Cars would fit in pretty well in Frontierland.

They just (2009) did an extensive refurb of Space Mountain where it was down for about a 8 months. They're aren't doing anything to it anytime soon. If you want DLR space mountain, you need to go to California.

Oh, I'm not fussed either way, I actually will be going to DLR next year so I'll finally get to see what all the fuss is about with SM . I was just pointing out that shutting down an e-ticket ride at MK isn't as detrimental as say shutting down one at HS or Epcot.

Nice info. Since everything at F&W is an up charge, it will be nice to see what additional events they will now offer. Can't wait.
