This is what I would personally do at MK: Bring the new effects to BTMRR, bring the 1983 Fantasyland facelift to MK and get rid of that medieval tent theme, and make Space Mountain a proper roller coaster similar to the one at pretty much all the other Disney parks. Probably not going to happen, but hey.

I wouldn't mind getting the Hatbox ghost or some of the Fantasyland ride enhancements.

Rejoice Disneyland fans!

I'm down with this because paying another tax on top of Disney admission is pricey. Not to mention we now have a confirmed $1 billion . We knew it was happening but to know for sure is great!
No, we don't have a "confirmed $1bil". We have Anaheim giving up tax dollars in the hope that Disney follows through on what they said they'd do, and which Disney would do anyway (they just bought property there this year, it's not like they will not be improving their offerings).

The 1 billion is part of the deal. As the article says, they will have to confirm the value of the improvoments made by 2024, which should be over 1 billion. It's true that most of that stuff was going to be spent anyways.

Not like they wouldn't have spent 1 billion otherwise they have a long time to fill that in.
True, but I do enjoy this process quite a bit. We know for a fact that we're getting these upgrades. There's not going to be any backing out of this, it's set in stone. Disney will with 100% certainty spend 1 billion on new attractions and fix their parking situation. That's in the public for everyone to see. It's awesome news!

Though I'm wondering how this will all work out. I think we're getting more than just Marvel, Star Wars, and Parking. Something on the tail end of all those projects would make sense. A RnR clone should not blow through 400 million. Maybe we'll be getting more Marvel, who knows?

It's not like we should be all that impressed by $1 billion over the next 8 years. As I said earlier, that's an average of $125 million a year. The Marvel and Star Wars plans will likely eat up most of that money. The biggest piece that I think is important is that in the whole thing Disney is saying they are going to improve the parking infrastructure. That is something that is DESPARATELY needed in Anaheim.

Yeah, confirmed. Do you really think Disney will let this fall through the cracks? No. So in essence it's been confirmed. We have guaranteed time frames which is more then we had yesterday. We have a basic outline that it will include parking and rides which is more then we had yesterday. We also have a general budget which is more then we had yesterday. All of that was up in the air, and now it's not.

Though I don't think you understand how this deal works. It's not in "the hopes" Disney will build. They will or else they won't get the assured tax break. If Disney doesn't meet the timeframe then Anaheim can begin taxing Disney Admission. It's a win win for Anaheim, because now they have assured construction and thousands of new jobs created. If for an odd reason Disney fails to meet the obligation Anaheim can begin taxing Disneyland (really the guests) at any time without any problems.

Win win.

There's enough space for a Marvel ride behind ToT. Some people suggest that Bugs land could get the axe in order to build a proper Marvel land. The existing CM parking area could be moved to one of the plots of land Disney has been purchasing in the area.

That's what I've seen Spirit say. I know that Disneyland Paris is getting a Spiderman themed overlay, and he said a Spiderman themed RnR ride was coming to DCA too. I'm just wondering if they'll be another Avengers ride besides that one. It just seems like there's room for two E Tickets there if the Land is going to just be a city scape or something to that effect.

About how much has WDW invested starting with NFL and Avatar etc, if this all goes through? In the parks anyway.

Also was wondering if Disney Springs had an investment dollar amount? Pretty sure a lot of that is investments from the tenants.

That would be awesome, but I don't think they can use the characters because of the Universal and Marvel deal.

They actually COULD likely make a Marvel hotel. The deal says essentially "Not in the Parks". That's why they had a Marvel advert on the MK monorail but not on the Epcot one. (MK loop doesn't go through the parks, Epcot loop does.) They also have a Marvel store at DTD (is it officially DS yet?). A Marvel themed hotel would be unlikely to violate the letter of the agreement. However, I still think Disney wouldn't do it. I would guess they feel there is already too much confusion between what's at Disney and what's at Universal. Having Marvel theme park rides at Uni and a Marvel hotel at WDW would only make that worse.

Avatar I think is running $600-700 million, though that might include other DAK stuff like the Rivers of Light show. I haven't heard a lot of rumors about Disney Springs. That's certainly a several hundred million level investment. I don't think that a lot of the money is being fronted by the tenants, but I am sure they are hoping to offset the depreciation with income from the tenants, that's for sure.

NFL was around 500 million total I think. mermaid was 100 million alone. Avatar is more around 700 million.

I have not heard any numbers on disney springs. That number won't probably be as high because RCID will pay for the roads and parking improvements, and then you have tenant fees and such.
