Just the HD upgrade everyone says it looks so much better nowThat area of DCA finally fits in there. It looks great, but I'm sure it'll look even better once the vegetation grows up a little.
Any noticeable changes in Soarin so far?
Things are shaping up. Not surprised at all thanks. The SFWMD permits for the VWL Rehab Project were filed yesterday. Looks like several one story structures/cabins along with other renovations to be constructed on both sides of the current buildings.

So based on what I've read. These will be on the water huts but not over the water. There will be pool upgrades and a brand new pool likely built. Restaurant upgrades as well. It be interesting if the pool upgrades they talk about are the ones that have already been done because they redid a lot of the pool area last year and added the kiddie area. Artist point is supposed to get a big refurb. The SFWMD permits for the VWL Rehab Project were filed yesterday. Yep. Club level conversion and bungalows around. Originally I guess they were supposed to be over the water but it seems that has changed. A large building was never part of the plans.Wow-- looks like 26 bungalows along the shore line. No large building on the plan---- I guess just conversion of regular rooms in the existing space.
More rooms I can't (or won't) spend my points on.

I think you're talking about the river country project that leaked. That was supposed to be a brand new stand along resort but it never happened. The rumors regarding more DVC at WL never included a new building.I'm fairly sure the plan leaked in 2012 or so had a large building addition and no small buildings.
Edit-- yeah just looked it up and it was huge.
Yes it will be very interesting how this plays out. They may have learned something from the poly bungalows. Also I believe when they did the poly DVC the permits never specified DVC either. I'm fairly certain based on what I've heard that at least some of this will be DVC.The scope of this project is significant, even more so than I first thought. I pasted an excerpt from one of geo analysis studies....there's definitely a new pool separate from last years upgrades of the main pool. It could just be "wording", but several of the documents mention an annex or building being constructed that is an extension of the Wilderness Lodge Hotel. It never mentions the Villas or DVC in anything. Again, I suspect that's just wording, but it is interesting. Also, because this the SFWMD permit, nothing is mentioned anywhere in these documents of conversion of any of the main lodge rooms. We could infer from the DPR permits filed with Orange County that that is the case, but still nothing entirely solid on that yet.
I also find it interesting that the new cabins will stretch all along the lake shore. Most of the DVC areas are always contained in a single area. These plans show a pretty significant footprint. This is just speculation, but if this is DVC related, I'm wondering if the 12 cabins on the West side (toward BLT) of the lodge would be part of the main hotel and the other 14 on the East side part of DVC where all the other DVC items are located. Doesn't really make sense from a financial standpoint because they would want to sell points to cover the cost of all the units, but it is a theory none the less based on the footprint. It will be interesting to see how this affects DVC ownership at the resort......still no details on that yet. Here is the verbiage I mentioned earlier:
The project under consideration herein is the existing Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World, Florida. New construction will include a series of one story bungalows to the east and west of the Lodge. These buildings will front onto Bay Lake. Also included with the project are new restaurants and recreation buildings (also one story) together with new pools and upgrades to existing pools.
