News Round Up 2020

The “it might get pushed” wedge on my “will it open on time” pie chart is growing...

I think that Disney will do everything in it's power to keep things rolling along, including not showing their hand if they're leaning towards delaying any openings. And this also goes for Universal potentially closing back down. With so much momentum already moving forward no one wants to be the 1st to blink if necessary ...

But depending on how things continue to trend I don't think anyone should be shocked if the theme parks need to delay / close back down

otherwise it looks like it might just be the EPCOT Food Festival
"No see the premises of the 'Flavors of India' booth extend to this masking tape line we put on the ground. So when people drink their Mango Lassi on the other side of the masking tape, it's totally fine!" - probably Jeff Vahle in 3 weeks

Are those drinks considered “To go”?

If so I think they are safe from the current order. But it’s so fluid (pun intended) right now.

I'm unsure how Disney falls in this. If its Disney as a whole or individual establishments.

If Disney as a whole, then all is fine and they can do whatever the heck they want.

If Individual, then it would vary from place to place.

I have no idea how Disney's liquor license is established

I mean, that's what it is for me most of the time anyway because I'm not about to pay $8 for two sips of beer. :rotfl:

fair point ... this might just save me from myself of overpaying for mediocre beer just because that is what is there and at least something slightly different ;)

These numbers have been predicted forever. The problem is we have several states and a lot of people that think ignoring reality is an effective strategy.

Unfortunately the people most pushing for reopening are the same people that are ignoring all recommendations that could allow reopening to be sustainable.

Yeah I saw a comment that demanding places reopen but then refusing to wear a mask which is required to enable things to open is sort of acting like a toddler

SeaWorld News

Confirmation that SeaWorld Orlando did in fact start receiving track for a new B&M custom built launch coaster, codenamed Penguin, that was set to open next year. It’s rumored to be the first of B&M’s new Surf Coaster line.

Well when this is all over Sea World is at the top of my must do list again. Haven't been in probably 5 years. Still need to ride Mako and the new raft ride. And now this.....

Icebreaker will also open before this one, as it’s mostly complete right now.

Personally I think the park is spectacular. Its by far the best choice for coasters in Orlando, and that’s without this and next years additions.

OT but growing up close to O-town from the age of 18-25 SeaWorld was tops for me. Then they did away with the free beer, but Kraken and Atlantis will always hold a special place with me.

Time to get back there when I can.
