News Round Up 2020

Who knows how it will go here.. it's hard to tell (especially on here since we are uber fans!). Maybe the people that are fearful of the virus are the vocal minority? Maybe a majority of people are just ready to go back to normal, virus be darned. It is pretty obvious in local circles that people are pretty much "done" with the lockdown and ready to move on (with changes/restrictions). Personally, if I could, I'd go out to restaurants and church. The more I do that and start to "feel" safer. The safer I will feel going to a big place like WDW in a month or more by taking recommended precautions..

Is there any talk of the old WWofD episodes being put on D+? There's years and years of great content there.

I don't think there's been anything official, but I wouldn't be surprised as there's plenty of demand from the interwebs' social media. D+ launched with some of the 80's 'Magical World of Disney' stuff like 'Fuzzbucket' and 'Mr. Boogedy'. I remember reading somewhere that Disney was planning to add additional titles over time including 'Earth Star Voyager' and 'Not Quite Human'. Unless Disney can't find decent copies of the older 'Wonderful World' stuff, I figure they'll eventually be added.

I didn't realize SDL had only been closed 3 months. That means they are only a month ahead of us. If they are reopening after 3 months in China, I think that at least leaves open a good possibility we could do that here. They closed Jan 25 so really it's more like 3 1/2 months. We've been closed since March 15, so if we used the same timeline as Shanghai, we would be open by the end of June. How long have they had their hotels and Downtown Disney back up?

From the press release ...

Due to the manditory wearing of masks in Germany, it is also mandatory at Europa-Park to wear a mask covering your mouth and nose in all covered areas, waiting areas of any kind, as well as during the use of rides

This may just lean more towards the idea that the park won't set the mask guidelines, instead they will follow what the local guidelines entail.

but how much stricter was China with their stay at home order

I just read the survey and they missed a huge question...

Assuming guests are required to wear face coverings in Orlando in June when temperatures are a minimum of 92 degrees with a real feel of 108 due to 99.9% humidity, would you be willing to pay full price while risking heat stroke, dehydration, and exhaustion to attend our parks while they operate with limited capacity?

Remove masks and we are there. Make us wear masks in June, July, or August and it's a no go. I'll think about a mask in the fall/winter when we cross that bridge.

Yep ... Given how hot of a debate topic this is for the US as a whole (if not globally), I'm pretty sure Disney didn't miss the question. They don't want to wade into that topic yet. No matter what side people fall on this topic, it tends to devolve into a mess

A, um, website is reporting that WDW is no longer taking reservations for June.

Note: edited to remove a mistake.
