News Round Up 2016

Interesting Thanks!

The event did show up on MDE for all of the parks but didn't show specifics. I am surprised DHS is the next park to get it. It has been decently popular with MK.

This really could be the future of EMH...

I still think EPCOT is the potential mother load for this ... if they combined Akershus, A&E Meet & Greet and Frozen Ever After people would pay a fortune for that - and then still be able to have the FP for Soarin

I hope not...but yes...

You know how I say we're bad consumers?

$69 for a couple of old rides and a fast food breakfast for an hour is the epitome of that.

It just keeps going and going...

They apparently were defeated on their late night magic kingdom nonsense...so now they're testing the armor somewhere else.

I sincerely hope people understand what they're doing here...it's going to get worse.

Yeah...what a deal.

Maybe we should wait till the Olaf boat has been open 3 weeks before we suggest strategies to screw ourselves, huh?

I have heard it is more a money issue. The Jungle Book show cost more money. They never wanted the Jungle Book show to be long term, they already had invested so much in ROL, and ROL will cost less on a per show basis. Disney never expected the Jungle Book show to be a big hit, it was a filler when they had no other choice due to the ROL problems.

I also don't think you can book the show for Sept 5th. Sept 4th is the last day you can book the show...for now. They haven't opened any further cause they don't know what they will do yet. Given Sept 5th is a holiday, some insiders have said that it was an internal goal to have it up by Labor Day if they couldn't have it up by July 4th. Obviously they didn't make it for July 4th. Insiders also say that even if it can't open by Labor day, they have ever intention of having it up before the end of the year, just don't expect them to make any announcement until they know with 100% certainty (which could be the week before it opens).

If what you're saying is true that implies they are closing the temp show no matter what...

Everyone can eat till their hearts content on free dining...they don't need a show

Not sure if this is old news or not, but was just in MDE and apparently DHS will be getting the Early Morning Magic event. Rides will be Star Tours and Midway Mania. Character meets will be Buzz, Woody, Mickey, Minnie, and Olaf. Buffet breakfast at ABC Commisary. Was not bookable for August 4th (only date I was checking for something else), but link to more detailed info was clickable. $69 per adult, $59 per child 3-9, plus tax.

If this is available in October, I might consider it. We could do the stuff my son would want to do at DHS and then head over to Typhoon Lagoon for the rest of the day.

At the risk of being labeled a cynic and LOL follower... ;)

This is worrisome. Imagine the next steps:

$69 for Breakfast and limited rides + $119 for 10a-9pm day ticket + $99 for 9pm - 12am dessert and rides. A single day at the MK would be: $287... or a package deal for $249.

We are walking very close to that ledge folks. Next stop.... DHS $109 for a ticket... But wait... you want Star Wars Land access? That's another $79.

I don't see this being as popular at DHS as it was at MK...especially with the wait times for Midway Mania dropping so much with the 3rd track and with far fewer things to do at DHS (it's not really difficult to ride everything there in a day...in fact we usually ride things multiple times) where at MK there's the plus of getting on Mine Train which and the draw of the "nostalgia" feelings at MK (empty"ish" Main Street, Castle photos, etc.)...I agree with the post about it being extremely popular if they did it at Epcot with the Frozen stuff and then throw in the Mexico ride -- didn't they just open breakfast in Mexico too? They'd probably put the breakfast portion there as opposed to Akershus...since they make a lot of money off of the character breakfast there.

It is true that jungle book isn't supposed to be long term but they are using the Disneyland fantasmic barges. They are going to have to go back to DL at some point.

I'm 100% with you on the second part.

Note that the event itself does not include park admission. You have to use a park day AND pay for the event.
