News Round Up 2016

I'm sorry, but this is getting ridiculous. We have become way too reactive as a society.

Not if people are feeding gators. It's reactive (should have been proactive), but absolutely must happen if that is an issue.

While I'll agree with the first statement, I also agree in this case it's not too reactive. These beaches are unnecessary other than being aesthetically pleasing as part of the theme of the resort. The Resorts have a pool area for families to go to for recreation. It's an incident that should have never been allowed to happen in the first place, and they certainly can't allow it to happen again. They need to discourage people from feeding the gators in the bungalows, and you KNOW that just putting up signs saying don't do it won't stop people.

What's over-reactive is taking the crocodile out of the parade.

I don't understand how this wasn't confirmed before since he is in movie posters but I guess the confirmation is nice.
I haven't seen an official movie poster for the film yet. I know there was an image of a companion book that had Vader on the cover that was leaked. LucasFilm threatened to sue as it was a copyrighted image and the websites that had the image posted deleted it.

While I agree that feeding the gators is the root of all of this, plexiglass sheets on the railings will not affect the feeding. If anything it will give people a feeling of security when they are doing it. And closing the beaches from sun down to sun rise won't keep the "doesn't apply to me" crowd out.

It can't be fixed with out guest cooperation.

Well the solution that Disney is trying to avoid is add people to police and enforce rules. Most guests are not going get antagonistic in these situations and will quickly correct the situation. If they continue to thumb their nose at the rule and perform the dangerous activity, Disney needs to be prepared to evict those guests. I For those type of guests that are going to knowingly engage in a dangerous activity, a piece of plexiglass is not going to stop them. It is much cheaper and easier to put up some fences, netting, and plexiglass that takes care of the liability.

I was under the impression that the new Alice movie didn't do very well. But the others could make up for it.

Totally agree, Alice is a total flop. But that was expected. Pete's Dragon may have a questionable audience response. The Finest Hours was meh. But I mean Zootopia and The Jungle Book way exceeded expectations. I think Finding Dory may do the same and it had higher expectations then the others mentioned.

I find this a very shocking addition with how much Disney likes squeezing every nickel and dime out of their consumers.
Really? A lot of people like popcorn so why shouldn't there be an option to refill. I don't see this as a nickel and dime tactic. It's not soda where they could do free refills.

Guess it depends how high the glass is. I guess I'm envissioning them going 7-8 feet above the railing. If it is just making the railing a tad higher then I would agree. But I think that with signs, I don't know, maybe I just have more hope than I should, but I stand by I wouldn't call this ridiculous or insinuate it is too reactive.

It's just the opposite. At $1.50 a refill, that's $1.50 they will be getting people from people multiple times through the day, whereas they wouldn't necessarily buy multiple popcorns in the old system. Disney would never do this if they didn't project a greater profit overall.

Btw, at $1.50 a refill instead of...free, I have zero interest in lugging around yet another thing.
