Oh, okay. Wow, it's gone already though? When you first mentioned work being done already though, I was thinking about all the brick buildings. Those will take a significant amount of work to remove (including emptying them first!).

Disney is looking at putting Muppets into Liberty Square somehow. No more details than that.

Are we certain this rumor didn't start 5 days ago? There is nothing in Liberty Square that isn't based in the real world or at least live action. Even Haunted mansion isn't terribly cartoony. Seems a bizarre place to find room for the Muppets.

I'd much prefer a dark ride in DHS.

With regards to the Muppets, someone on a FB page I frequent mentioned that an employee said the muppets would be performing above the HoP. His exact words...

"They're moving over to Magic Kingdom for performances above the Hall of Presidents. Not anytime in the near future, though."

And when asked for a source,
"A higher up WDW employee friend told me so when I was discussing Pizza Planet."

No real insiders saying this, just some random person who heard it from someone who heard it from someone. Anything on facebook picks up traction, and the rumors and variations of the story will pick up steam. But this is BY FAR not a reliable source or something people should believe.

Liberty Square would be an odd spot, but the Muppets fit into MK just as well as about anything else in that park.

The person I am referring to was just a regular guy. It was not his Facebook page that he stated it on. It just came up in a random conversation, and he heard it directly from his friend who IS the higher up.

idk. I think they fit much better into DHS and would have a bigger draw if they have one park to call "home." Invest that effort into Muppets Courtyard in DHS rather than trying to shoe-horn muppets in Liberty Square.

I don't know why there couldn't be a Muppet presence in BOTH parks. There's plenty of characters to go around. I think the Muppets would work fine in MK, and if done right, they'd work in Liberty Square. I can see Kermit with a little tricorn hat on now...

They've used Muppets in MK before. I definitely recall seeing them in a parade some years ago though I don't recall the details.

The characters have been fitted into so many stories (Christmas Carol, Treasure Island) that its not hard to blend them in really. The bigger question in my mind is why?

Where???? The only flat spot (and it's SMALL) is over the main entrance to the show. AFAIK there is no direct access to that area. Just windows. I'm not even sure it's built as a weight bearing structure, like a balcony or elevated deck.

IDK. Makes as much sense as retheming TOT to a bunch of secondary Marvel characters.
