News Round Up 2016

RoL opening has been postponed, more news later in May!

Slightly disappointed but I guess many saw this coming.

Guess I'm one of the few who are glad they finally said something. It's not like the delay is something they can control; they seem to be doing everything they can to get things going but it's about time they answered the question of what's going on ... even if that means postponing it. Just be up-front and most guests would be a lot less upset.

I'm a bit bummed, kinda thought I was safe from the delay since my trip isn't until the end of May, but I'll just have to keep watching and waiting.

Maybe Disney should try to snag whomever is leading Universal for the new CEO. Delay, delay delay... thats our motto these days. Meanwhile, Universal's like... should we build a 3rd Harry Potter land.. ohh and how about we build 4 other attractions while were at it... and lets have that done in a year. Who wants lunch? Should we try something at Disney Springs... ohh what is that.. it's still not completely open, after all these years? Ok, lets just go to CowFish. yum.

We were e sitting at Paradiso 37 yesterday afternoon talking to a bartender friend there. Her friend is the bar manager at the new Edison Bar. We asked when they knew if they were opening or no. She explained the bar manager at Edison said it would be closer to the end of the year than anything.

They are trying, of course, to be opened before the holiday season. Though the way she explained it, that is not looking very good as of yesterday.

Apparently there have been major issues with construction with the STK building and other buildings in Disney Springs and there have been backups that were not expected with code violations, etc. So fingers crossed it is opened before the end of the year.

Comcast is doing well other than the cord cutter problem. I don't think anyone would leave from there for Disney.

I've seen this floating around, but I really don't believe he understands what is happening internally and how much of it actually has to do with Shanghai. Blame it on corporate telephone, or the fans, or not cost cutting all you want, the fact doesn't change that normal business procedures are being expanded due to Shanghai. As someone who doesn't work for Disney (as far as my research tells me), I don't believe he can fully understand the impact that is being had within the company, and to use his own terminology, it's pretty simplistic to blame the consumers for ongoing cuts.

Thanks for the update! I appreciate any tidbit I can get on the Edison and Walt's.

Let's be real. Money talks. If the price is right, someone would leave. Now if their contract prohibits you from going from one company to its competitor within a certain span of time.... That's another story.

Went in there 10 years ago and still every so often, I start singing, "In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, ti-ki room."

Thanks, birds.

Love the Enchanted Tiki Room! Once I went during a late evening in the magic kingdom and when the doors open and we went in, a kid behind me turned to his mom and said, "this is it?!" I burst out laughing. I guess mom made it out to be some ride. He was unimpressed.
