News Round Up 2016

I would certainly try this once. I still feel like there is a major risk of getting ill from a headset that isn't tuned precisely. Cool idea, though.

Considering people are still reporting problems wearing VR headsets while sitting in a chair yeah this could get ugly if it's not very carefully tweaked. :D

I did take take up the deal for Six Flags Great America. Myself and my son both got passes (free parking included) and I did the meal plan add on for myself. I just added it for him since one meal to share isn't quite enough. I've already broken even on my passes that I bought in the fall. We do get the free water parks add on but it's usually so chilly in the Chicago area I really don't see any point in going unless it is a true heat wave. Then at that point everyone has the same idea. We usually go once per month so it's definitely worth it, but I would never pay full price for any of it. I know 6F gets a bad rap on here but being within 30 minutes I absolutely cannot beat the value of just going there and walking around while my son goes on crazy roller coasters all day.

The quality of 6F varies substantially around the country. Plus in many of them if you eliminate thrill rides there's... very little.

Yes there's a drastic difference from the one in St Louis to the one in Chicago, from what I can tell. I haven't been to any others at all. It's fun even if it's not all encompassing magic.

um.... whoa. I mean, I think this happens anywhere, but still, establishes Disney isn't immune to this kind of stuff.

I'm about as far from a germaphobe as you can get. I would still eat at those tables knowing that, but that is freaking terrible. They could have had to shut down the entire food court if a health inspector saw that.

I agree. I'm far from a germaphobe but that's as bad a using a toilet brush. Disgusting. Definitely keeping the food plates on the trays when at Disney from now on.

Call me a conspiracist, but who EVER thinks it's OK to "mop" a table?!?! So, a small part of me wonders if this woman was truly inept or just trying to stir up trouble (or a lawsuit) for Disney...

Stuff like this happens a lot (not specifically at Disney). Someone's in a rush, doesn't particularly care about their horrible low paying job so rather than make any extra effort they just use what they've got on hand. No one will be able to tell the difference after all right?

But this doesn't even seem like laziness or carelessness - if you dropped your rag on the floor and then wiped the table, I get that. But to take an object solely designed to clean a floor and then use it in on an eating surface? I just can't fathom :sad2: I equate that with cooks or waitstaff spitting in someone's food. It is deliberate. And I find it interesting that the article stated, "Disney officials said...she is no longer welcome on Disney property." That seems a bit drastic for someone who was just a disgruntled employee/contractor.

Regardless, this just reinforces my policy of bringing disinfectant wipes to wipe our tables down! I'll just make sure I do it for the food courts too! o_O

Never the less it happens and in most cases it's not malicious it's just... not caring.

Round here the county Health Department does regular inspections of all food service facilities and posts the results on their website and on Facebook. The results are... startling in some cases.

Does that happen to Disney or have they managed to immunize themselves because of their unique "independence"?

You can look up the inspection records on the Orando Sentinal site. A google search for "Orlando restaurant inspections" will bring up a database
